I've ordered a copy of the BD version from North America. Should be here soon (I hope).

PSN ID: CellAnimation

edit:

Damn at least 3 weeks until I get the game from North America.
Bugger that, I'll buy the download version when it is released in Australia (tomorrow?).

edit x 2:

Sweet it's out already. Just installing it now.

edit x 3: Wow... just wow!

the game is small due to its make-up......

no computer combatants means no AI, and both sides have the same models with different skins(and possibly some varying attributes). But it really only consists of map data and physics.

2ny - I was looking for you online, but that explains why. Not sure how much play I'll get this weekend(house sitting)but I should be on some. Either way, we'll be fragging each other in no time! :p

Dylan Jobe said they way they have it is that it only uncompresses level data when you actually begin a match and after the match is over, it immediately deletes all the data so it never takes up more than about 800mb of space on your HDD.

I wasn't being serious lads :rolleyes::p

Anyway it does go to show that size really isn't important, it's what you do with it ;)

The fact that they have a really good looking game, with all the physics and stuff all in place say's it all. The biggest part of any game is the engine that drives it. 780mb for a game like this proves the size issue is really a 'non issue after all'.

Besides AI isnt going o bump a 780mb game to 25gb is it....

lol........I played for about 8 hours so far and it only logged/recorded my last 26 minutes. Hence, I have only ranked up once, and still don't see the medals I was awarded on day one. :( But at least they got stats working.....

It wasn't at Wal-mart yesterday… I'm going to check Best Buy and Gamestop or EB Games today to see if they have a copy. I don't feel like spending an hour downloading it, heh.

Cool game.

I spent the first 15 minutes getting blown all over the place due to having no clue, but it's fun after that.

I spent around an hour last night trying to figure out the Warhawks controls. I'll try again today, but at the moment I'm really good target practice for everyone else. ;)

warhawks are a bitch to fly well, in the beta I learned my lesson: never fly warhawks :D What is fun is sitting in the missle turret blowin them out of the sky and hearing people swear like pirates.

At least you tried. I didn't have the guts to get in one.

I'm rather good flying with the analogue nub, but have yet to try out SIXAXIS support.
I had to get a new controller as SIXAXIS in my current controller was busted. :(

Lately I've only been able to get in to dog fight matches. It's good though it has given me the clues on how to actually fly a warhawk. Now if everyone else would just stop shooting and let me rack up some points. ;)

I can fly the thing reasonably well. The problem is avoiding the SAMs. I guess the trick is to know where they are on the map.

I prefer the land combat, but the combat rifle is a little underpowered to my taste (I am used to GRAW, where one short burst is enough to kill someone).

There's some really good players on the ranked servers.

I'm sending out friends requests now to all of the regulars. So if you get one and you're playing Warhawk add me. :)

edit: All sent out. If I've missed anyone just send me a request @ CellAnimation

Hopefully we can all get a game going soon.

I've played the game for around 2 1/2 hours so far and I'm getting a lot better. The Warhawk is pretty easy to fly once you get a hang of the controls.

I've been playing the Sony CTF maps lately, they are a hell of a lot of fun (when you actually connect;)).

I did something so stupid last night on the game.

I was in a CTF game and this guy managed to steal our flag and was feeing in a jeep. I had my own jeep and was right on his tail. A friendly warhawk caught up and was firing on the enemy while flying directly above me which was pretty cool. Anyways, the friendly managed to destroy the jeep, but the enemy jumped out. I tried running the guy over, but missed, and in my attempt to go in reverse, I accidentally hit the square button for some reason and got out of my jeep, before I realized what I did and tried to get back in, the jerk stole my jeep and escaped. He managed to get our flag to their base because of my stupid screw up. Ticked me off! :p

I realized that a lot of the problems I was having were caused by me not knowing that most of the weapons have a slight auto aim.

The only games like this I have played don't have that, so I was constantly over correcting in trying to keep on target, and no wonder I was getting smoked. Since I worked that out, I have been doing much better.

Some of the hosted rooms are run by real noobs. There's no eye opener like going from ranked games to one of those.

I played a 16 person TDM in Eucadia and both sides seemed to think it was a good idea to sit on either side of the bridge and snipe in a futile manner from long range (with ordinary guns, not the sniper rifle).

So I got in a tank and drove right into the enemy base, where I began a murderous rampage. Some of the clowns were standing right next to oil barrels. A tank round in a pile of barrels = 4 dead guys at once. I then got out of the tank, and commandeered their missile turret and shot down all their warhawks.

The room owner must have been on the other side, since the room disconnected just as we were about to win.

I felt a lot better about my comparative lack of skill after that game.

Where was everybody last night? This weekend the servers were crammed up very tightly.

I got home last night from a long days work....kick off my shoes(didn't change my work clothes yet) pop in WH just to get my arse handed to me by some 11 year old screaming in my ear..

Young Buck: "Lair sucks!" "Lair sucks"..."you smell"

So the second time around I went out on a mission to find him and stab him with my knife....that was the highlight of my day(how bad does that sound)

I was hoping you guys would be online but maybe tonight?

Note: I'm still picking up lair....one of my coworkers says its not that bad.

Bless

I found it very hard to connect yesterday during the morning/mid afternoon (my time). When I finally connected I did a search and joined a game MichaelLtd was in. The first round I played he was player of the match, the second round I really found my groove and was miles ahead of people in the points stakes _BUT_ I got disconnected with 36 seconds to go. I was mighty impressed.

As for the comment above about auto lock on, I figured that out last night while I was playing some dog fight levels. It made the game a hell of a lot easier. I can't wait for a game guide from GameSpot or IGN, I find myself having no idea about new weapons/vehicles the first time I use them.

Oh well, it's good that my kill ratio in games is now a lot higher than my death ratio.

I will get round to downloading this..... just bioshock and blue-dragon are taking up my gameplaying hours at the moment.

I still have yet to open my copy of mario football charged and trauma centre (still in shrinkwrapping)...

Is it just me or is Warhawk buggy? Yesterday I clocked a few hours in various game types and was rewarded a heap of medals/ribbons. I logged on to check my stats today and none of them showed up. This was only on the Sony blue servers too.

Time for a patch I think!

Hey guys just bought warhawk yesterday, and my PS3 a week ago. Please add me so we can get some games going. Not too many people talk so far on warhawk, so it will be good to get some strategy going.
Hope to see you all on.

Yeah its time for that patch....well at least they know theres something going on and we should see that patch anyday now. The stats are not being saved and its hard to get into ranked servers.....Hope that fix is like tomorrow.

This game is too good to be ruin by some glitches....lets get it going incog.

I played a good hour or so of "dogfight only" matches yesterday, and I finally started getting the hang of the warhawks. I actually got a few kills instead of just being blasted out of the sky repeatedly!

It's fun as hell!

But it always seems hard to me to avoid incoming missiles. Let's say, you're chasing someone, homing missiles equipped, and you have an incoming missile alert. Within a second or two, you need use the arrow buttons to switch to the sparkly thingy (no clue what it's called) and then activate it...my reaction time is still slow on that one, but I guess it will come with practice. And in a way it's good, cause if avoiding missiles was too easy, it wouldn't be as balanced.

Question: What is the "Pro Flight mode"?

Also, is anyone using the sixaxis controls? I used them for a while in the warhawks, but then I realized that I had to use them in vehicles too. Separate settings would be nice!

But in the end the flying with analog sticks feels more natural to me, too.

Dogfights are beautiful.....but whats pissing me off is the constant reset of stats...hope they get this fix soon.

I noticed a lot of jackarses camping it out in the missle turrent....man I love taking them out.

Come on incog....lets get another update going.
