It worked. No issue at all.

If the issue is an active BackTap, then turn it off. I've never actually used it, so has been off pretty much since the feature first appeared.

(Have to admit, I'm relieved lol. I really wasn't looking forward to dealing with restoring the phone from scratch.)

I won't download beta again because it didn't work with the Shake Shack app a few times. Forget that.

Updated my 15PM using Finder and the proper ipsw package on my Mac mini. Everything went smooth and no troubles found.

Sorry to hear for people this happened to. No prob. updating on my 13 mini & it seems to be running fine. About an hour since updating & phone isn’t even warm.

In the middle of DFU for my 15 pro max. I did/do have back tap enabled, but will not be trying this beta again. I was prepared with back ups cause its beta, but haven't run into anything this bad in a few OS

And looks like from what I just saw someone say on Reddit they may have just yanked the update for the time being to squash this bug

So if you haven't got the update yet, sounds like you'll have to wait until they re-release it

No problem on 15 PRO here. I updated it after reading this thread. That’s how I found out a beta update was available!

It looks like beta 2 has just been pulled. I have 17.3b1 installed, was downloading the update, and saw this thread so didn't follow through with the install. Now the phone says it's up-to-date and the option to upgrade has vanished.

- Plug iPhone into Mac
- Press volume up, then volume down, then press and hold the side button until the recovery mode screen shows up
- Use Finder to restore the IPSW (in Finder, hold down Option when clicking the restore button to select the IPSW)
