I'd take the free phone myself. It doesn't sound like you were in a hurry to upgrade before the offer is made. By the time the 6 is no good, your company may offer you another phone or something you like more may be available.

For most I'd say 6S....
But, I have to agree w/ you. Seems like this poster really doesn't care.
If I'm being offered a $650 phone for $200, I know I'd jump... but I have to realize that I'm a techie. "Normal" people might want to spend that $200 on Starbucks. *shrug*

After more than three weeks of usage I can say that it was worth it.

- I use 3D touch a lot for multitasking and is useful for quick actions.
- Touch ID is really fast and works like a charm, never had issues.
- Live photos are funny I use them a lot with kids.
- A9 is really fast and finally I can enjoy 2GB of RAM on the phone
- The front camera flash feature is really cool, I don't take many selfies but there is a huge improvement
- Hey Siri is really handy and I usually need it when the phone is unplugged

The rear camera is good but not a big improvement. I have more MP now but there isn't much difference in low light so I don't want to say I'm disappointed by the camera but there is still a lot of work to do in that area

Not sure why I was so blind to opportunities.

So my ten year old's phone is due for an upgrade. He received my wife's old 5c when I bought her a new 6s plus thru Apple for Christmas. We created a new line and gave him her old phone. Well since I bought her new one thru Apple it can now be upgraded with ATT.

So I can upgrade his phone, let him keep the 5c, take the new 6s myself (so swap all the SIM cards) and sell my 5s and corporate will never know the wiser?

What am I missing here?

Sounds like a plan

So much.

One hand wizard to shrink to iPhone 5 size
Activator for gestures
Tage for zephyr slide up alternative
Color profiles to make the screen do-able color and contrast of my general preference
Eclipse to make certain apps dark theme instead of all white iOS
Noslowanimations to speed up UI
Virtual home for touch to press home button
Huehuehue for Philips hue activator hooks
Type status to see people iMessage read and typing from status bar
SWIPESELECTION pro to make space bar the cursor slider as opposed to my finger over text
Delete cut to hold shift and delete to delete words at a time every time I press delete to speed process up
Breadcrumb arrow to have that instead of "back to this app" replacing signal bars

I'm sure even more. I love jailbreak[/QUOTE

Hello, what is the one hand wizard tweak called to make the screen size of the 6s plus to an iPhone 5?

And what tweak allows you to see iMessage read and typing?

Thank you

Real upgrades are gone.

You'll have to either pay full cost for the phone upfront or spread the payments out monthly through NEXT (+15 upgrade fee). So either way you are paying full price.

The iPhone 6 was NOT crippled by the 1gb of RAM; the iPhone 6 plus was.

Well I guess we will agree to disagree on this one ... Both phones were crippled by 1gb of RAM and neither should have been released with just 1gb of RAM. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is what the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus should have been but wasn't... That's not just my opinion but shared by many...

I had an iPhone 6 and stayed with the phone for a year, but when I got the 6s and 6s Plus I realized how crippled the phone actually was...

Does ATT have a 14 day return policy? Or something similar? If you were to buy a plus and it was too big, could you swap for a regular?

The performance increase alone makes it worth it. My 6 Plus was really chugging along.
And most likely your 6s will feel the same way this fall. With how much Apple promotes the specs and performance of these phones, having it laggy after a year is unacceptable.

I had the 6 and it was not laggy after a year. I gave it to my niece and she is using it. I got the 6s Plus because I wanted to go with the big screen. I would have stayed with the 6 if it wasn't for the temptation of the big screen.

I was quoting Michael.

I just recently upgraded from a 6 Plus to the 6s Plus and I must say I'm very happy with the move. No more crashes on Safari or slow/freezing apps when try to multitask. The 2GB of ram was the main thing for me and Force Touch is just nice bonus.

It almost feels purposeful, like Apple purposely doesn't optimize the phones for storing a lot of content and still running smoothly. My 6 Plus was extremely laggy.

To that end I'll revisit this topic when the 7 comes out to see if my 6s loses its oomph.

coming from a 5s, yes..... but i still think the 5s takes better pictures than the 6 series.
