I tried it at 12:01-12:04 or so openning it and killing it but the notice was still up. Luckily I was in queue on the ATT website and got one for proper delivery. But I was just curious about the apple app.

I posted this in another thread...

I found it strange. I was sitting in my kitchen with my iPad pro and my wife's iPad pro so I could try and facilitate 2 orders. App store came up in my iPad at 3:03 and I completed my order 3:04. I tried bringing up the app store on my wife's at the same time and it wouldn't come up. I went ahead and ordered her phone on my iPad and it completed at 3:05. I kept trying the app store on her iPad and it finally came up at 3:10. Both were on my wifi.

Apple store app didn’t load for me on my iPhone nor iPad until 7 minutes after. The actual desktop website did come up at 3:05 and my order was completed at 3:06.

A little irritated because I didn’t get a launch day estimate due to this delay, but I suppose it could be worse.

Mine was still not working on my PC or phone even up to almost 4AM. My Ipad was the first device to open the store to place the order and was at like 3:13. I got a 2-3 week date and then the ATT site dinged on me in the background and at like 3:45AM ish I was able to order with ATT and get launch day.

iPhone app came up for me at 12:04. Had the phone saved in my favorites along with my credit card in my Apple Pay wallet. Order went super smooth and at 12:06 AM I got my confirmation email that I bought the ATT 256 gig space gray for delivery on November 3

Good to see people following my advice Apple Store App Best way to go. Most websites were killed by bots.
I had the same problem....App Store App did not come back until about 3:08..was the showing 2-3 week delivery and I still could not get it to complete....I jumped back to Verizon site..I have an account...and it let me order for delivery Nov 3. Annoying.

I couldn't get in until ~12:16 PST.

My delivery window is 11/17-11/24.

I'm good with that, since it's in November.

app worked on my phone first... wouldn't come online for hubby til i was halfway through ordering his phone for him (after completing the order for my phone.)

luckily we both got nov 3 delivery! phew!

I kept refreshing at home with wifi till 12:04. Turned off WiFi and it went though for some reason. Coincidence?
Order placed by 12:06. 3rd delivery.

I got in at 12:03, wife 12:07, brother 12:13. All of us kept opening it, killing it, repeating. Something weird for sure, like it was only allowing a certain amount of traffic in at times.

I've heard some people were able to get in at 12:01. The app didn't work for me until 12:05. And even after I completed my pre-order (which was already November 10-17 with no in-store pickup option) the website was still closed.

It took over 20 minutes for me to be able to get into the app. Thankfully when I didn’t get in for the first 60 seconds I ran upstairs to my Mac and got my order in straight away on the website. Crisis averted 😀

This is he first year since I started using the app that I’ve had trouble with it though. I was rather surprised. Seems to have been hit and miss as to how and when people managed to get their orders in this year.

I know the big launches are always crazy of course, I’ve been an Apple customer a long time. But this year the reliability of their store seemed a little worse than usual.

It took me 10 min for the website and app to come live. I'm in California. And by that time, it was 11/17 – 24. 🙁 I don't understand what I was doing wrong. I refresh the page like a million times on two different browsers.

This was exactly our experience. Wife was managing her own device right next to me in the same room. I ordered mine by 2:06 (came up at 2:04 and the aT&T verification spun for a bit) and her still wasn't up. I completed an order for her on my device by 2:09 and hers still didn't come up until after that. Very odd.

Had the same experience & got the same ship date. Not the end of the world, but a bit disappointing after staying up late to order.

I couldn't get in until about 3:10. Apple seems a bit antiquated if you look how Ticketmaster and Tickets.com works when hot tix go on sale. You are put in a "virtual waiting room." While I don't love those at least I know I'm in and don't keep having to refresh. Not sure why Apple does it this way.

Also, seeing how Apple pretends it's all about customer experience I don't know why they don't just do a lottery like WWDC and email "winners" with a one-use code to buy. Code lasts for 24 hours. PITA and so unneccessry making customers wake up at 3am for this. It's getting old.
