Was the Apple App not open until a few minutes later?

Is it really such a big deal waiting a few more weeks to get the phone? I don’t get it

I wasn’t going to preorder but I still checked on the app to see delivery dates. I opened 2:20ish central time and it was still down.

Had to close about 4 times before I finally got in. At that point all models except for sprint were shipping in 2-3 weeks. Think only Verizon and sprint had in store pickup for Nov. 3

Good to see people following my advice Apple Store App Best way to go. Most websites were killed by bots.

Previous years that's been true. This year it seems like too many people were on the App and it overloaded the servers. Most of the people I speak to got through sooner and faster using the website than with the Apple Store App.

That was true of me as well. Starting at 12:00AM PST, I was very quickly launching the app, seeing the 'be back soon' message, killing the app, and repeating. By around 12:03AM, I also started hitting cmd-R on my keyboard (when the App on my iPhone 7 Plus was trying to load the store) for my iMac in case that would load sooner. Turns out, not only did the website load sooner, I was able to go through the longer process on the website in its entirety before the App on my phone was able to load the store.

I did the preliminary approval stuff earlier in the week for the IUP. Started trying to get into the store on the Apple App starting slightly before midnight. The apple App did not work for me until about 12:15am. By then by 256gb Silver was Nov 17-24.


The website opened up earlier for me, but would not let me order, since I had do the preliminary loan approval stuff.

Not very happy with Apple. I almost always gets mine on launch day.

Yep, same here in the U.K., the app and the website didn’t work until 0810 at least.

I made the order through the app.

Even worse, my favourites were not working, so I had to set up configured again.

Luckily, pickups on the 3rd remained.

Looks like Apple was using load managment again this year to make sure it wouldn't crash which means you go tthe "please wait" message even if it was past midnight PST. I'd guess a few hundred thousand who were selected at random to not even get in 10 or 15 minutes past midnight which means there was little chance to get a 11/3 date/

-last in que lotto based on randomness or if you selected a tmobiel phone. same thing happened last year.
