Where is the 27in iMac? A 23.5in display was enormous in 2008, maybe...

They should have released this model in two sizes, like the MacBook Pro.

No iMac Pro still, no Thunderbolt 5, No WiFi7, No OLED screen or Pro Motion display, No fast PCIE5.0 storage speeds. Apple is living in the past still. Maybe the M5 chip will be good.

Seeing how (not so fast) these are on PC, quite honestly it would probably cost them more to add "new stuff" that has no practical gain than they would gain from the price increase.

Latest isn't fastest. My PC is 8 years old and still beats the latest gen PCs at certain tasks. I was willing to drop $3k on a new PC build, but it actually isn't worth it - this one is more than enough. It has PCIe 3.0 graphics, DDR4 memory, and despite all that, is still a very fast machine.

On paper, the latest PCs should be two or three times faster than my current computer, but for reasons I can only assume are to do with software and/or the operating system, they are not.

iMac displays definitely took a step backwards a couple of generations ago. I have a 27" iMac 5K, and it seems there was one update to it (last gen. Intel iMac IIRC) then they seemed to drop the 5K display from the lineup.

I'd buy a 27" 5K iMac in a heartbeat.

Was a good 10 minute video unveiling the new iMac. Apple could also have gone with an event that is around 30 minutes long showing all the new Macs. Looking forward to all the announcements this week.

Still not a fan of the external power brick, especially the one with ethernet. "All-in-one" should mean all components in one package. It is just not an "all-in-one" when the power supply and ethernet are external.

I prefer it over the non attachable power cord on the studio display

Exactly! iMacs or no longer for true professionals. This is why we will also never get a screen bigger than 24 inches.

Sure 16GB's of RAM for the base model is great and all, but for the LOVE OF GOD - can we get off the freaking baseline 256GB SSD. I mean, that's INSANE! AT LEAST give us 512 at the baseline level. Such utter ********.

Seems odd that there is no way to buy both the new trackpad and mouse which is annoying because if you want both colored matched it doesn't seem available on the colored iMacs.

agree 4.5K is so outdated.
we need 8K, 240 Hz display.

Well for todays standards is not big … it’s actually small for a desktop display. Beautiful … let’s say it is. Either way, big beautiful logically it is not.

No 27inch, no buy.
I'm on my 3rd 27 inch iMac, last Intel version and would buy a new one today if it was larger.
I constantly view 2 full pages side by side and need the larger screen.

Reminds me of their decision to drop Base Stations. For a company that promotes security so much how they could drop the single most important device connecting my house to the outside world is beyond me.
