Excited for further announcements...but, uhh, we're just going to pretend M2 doesn't exist?

That's the first video I saw about Apple Intelligence. It looks like it will go through everything on the computer. If it can't be turned off completely, then it's a no-go.

The look of this iMac was already old at launch when they kept the chin. Now it looks ancient. I mean … why not get rid of the chin and loose some of that bezel … it’s time.

That and bring back MDA or whatever it was called so that we can connect a Macbook to it as use it as a display when it makes sense to the user.

I have an iMac from 2019 Intel … such a waste of display not to mention earth resources because my kid can’t simply connect his MacBook Air.

Apple needs to come back to the mantra of “Technology / Innovation that makes sense”

you know what people coming from intel imacs will not be impressed with? the small screen. the external power supply. the weird wired connectivity.

So hang on… Apple did a literal ‘spec bump’ for the iMac and made a 10 minute video for it, yet doing the EXACT SAME THING for the iPad Mini and it gets a press release… I see they’ve invited the press for a video like this one later in the week no doubt announcing the all new Mac Mini.

Apples communication teams see very confused.

I've owned two iMacs in the last 20 years, but would now rather a Mac mini and to upgrade at a lower cost while keeping my otherwise perfectly good monitor. In an ideal world I'd like a Mac mini that can be mounted discreetly behind a monitor for a componentised all-in-one, and which is power efficient enough to take its power from monitor USB-C power delivery

You're probably too young to know the history of apple and their use of color in their consumer-level (not pro-level) products

Also their entire MO has been "six colors" since the 70s.
I’m 42. Guess I’m too young.
I understand the color trend but they had a time when they had nice professional looking colors and are now going back to colorful ones. There should be both

I think the front looks the same pastel for most (or all), but the backs are not metallic anymore. I have the yellow iMac and from the back it looks more like a gold color, and remember seeing the red metallic with the pink pastel front, and it is now pink also from the back (the color option before was Red, and now it's Pink)
I think they ruined the colours this time by fading out the rear. The green however looks gorgeous with the 🍏 green back as oppose to teal

I have a yellow M1 too, and I definitely prefer the mustard yellow/metallic colour tone

You’re absolutely correct. They know what the people that are spending money to buy the products want. Just because someone says something online doesn’t mean that’s what customers want. That is the secret every successful business. Anyone can listen to what people say they want, but that is not the same as what people will spend money on.

So the iPhone 16 base phone gets WiFi 7 but the latest iMac gets only WiFi 6E when this is a product that people will use for years and can’t keep updating like an iPhone Does this mean that the M4 Pro MacBook Pro’s will have WiFi 6E too when they launch this week? I didn’t buy the M3 MacBook Pros last year primarily waiting for WiFi 7 to come in the M4 models this year.
