First full day of using the watch after a full charge the night before. I took it off the charger at 8am and put it back on at 11:50 pm and I had 8% left. I had 4 hours and 27 mins of usage and 16 hours of standby.

I did have a fair amount of texts and using hey Siri, I even took two 1 mins calls each. I checked and dismissed a lot of notifications and even read and deleted mail throughout the day. One of the program's I use to instant message for work sent the majority of notifications so I disabled that and removed pretty much every app, except the Starbucks, delta and citymapper.
I removed the heart rate from glances, since I'm not using the watch to work out, and I'm going to hope for a better day tomorrow. I didn't not get nearly the usage that others are saying.
I don't want to have to remove the weather from the watch complication because I like seeing it there but I guess I'll try the modifications Ive listed above first, then try something else if that does not work.
This sounds pretty good to me and for the amount of usage you are using. It adds up to over 20 hours battery life with 8% left.
Just curious, 38 or 42?

Actually it's kind of weird how they (Apple) word that because the 4 hours usage is part of the 16 hours of standby. So...the watch was on for 16 hours out of which 4 hours were used.
My watch has started to be insanely rubbish when it comes to battery. I even did a full reset and it's still abysmal. Took it off charge at 7am and by 9 it was at 75%. I recharged the watch at 11am and now its back at 75% at 13:30! Usage shows 45mins...
Not sure what is happening and I have added stress with my iPhone 6 plus battery not lasting as long as it used toI might ask to return my watch and get a replacement!
Does everyone charge the watch overnight? Won't it wear down the battery charging it overnight every night?
No. [Insert lots of technical stuff about lithium ion battery here]

Correct. Charging it every night does not cut down on its total available usage over time.
Only less battery usage can do that.
Something ain't right about that. I have seen about 4% per hour when it's just pulling down notifications and doing its normal stuff (with some but not much interaction from me - just some swipes and dismissals, no replies or calls or music)
I'd call tech support and see what's up.
