battery life today not as great.. yesterday i was around 80% at this time and today its 52%

I have found that rebooting helps when the battery seems to be draining too fast (unless there's a reason, like workout tracking, long phone call, etc).

Some updates on my side. I literally did nothing except checking the time and answering some messages. I have the watch on now for 14 hours and have 40% left. Now thats another story compared to the days before. Maybe I was really playing to much with it.

i tried everything, like turning off specific battery draining settings etc... and still not quite sure if the battery is normal on my 38mm because i only get maximum 12-14 hours even doing very little with the watch. i deleted the calendar and heartrate glances and disabled hey siri. its my 5th day with the watch. i dont know if i should return the watch for another.

can more people share their battery experience of an 38mm AW?
ataq, did the 1.01 update help you out at all? Seems to have given my 38mm an extra 5-10% boost.

I cant see the usage in the companion app under settings anymore. I tried 2 full charges to wait if this changes but I dont get any information. Maybe my battery is somehow broken. :/

edit:

nevermind, i just called apple. getting mine replaced. to many issues with this. :)

Good to hear ataq!!!! I'm happy for you and I just know you'll have better luck with the next one!!

Done all updates ... Had SS 38mm since 4/24 .... One day battery drained much faster than usual about a week ago ... A pic came in on watch tried to reply apparently program hung .. Anyway Support had me restart ... A bit of a hassle but been ok since .... Usually get to 12 hours with 65% left ... Usually charge overnight and use my Fitbit overnight ... Very pleased with AW

With moderate to heavy use from 8a-11p, i get to about 30%. Use watch for my workout, phone calls when I'm in my office, and messages.

My phone battery, on the other hand, takes a pretty big hit initially, then it usually evens out with the watch at the end of the day.

I use mine quite a bit for workouts. For example today, I tracked my workout for an hour walking the dog, and later a 40 minute elliptical trainer workout. So, after these 2 workouts and having been worn for 4 1/2 hours, I was down to 87 percent when I took it off and put it on the charger while I showered. After showering, it was back up to 98 percent, and 6 hours later is at 84 percent. When I go to bed in 5 hours, it should be around 65 percent.

I have a 42 SG Sport Watch.

42SportWhite Put it on this morning at 8am and it's 7:33pm, 80%. I have been rather lazy today.
I'll try to get motivated tomorrow to see if more calories burned = more battery used.:p

42m sport. At 26 hours I had 14% left when I put it on the charger. Oops, make that 36 hours

Today was the first full day I've used the Watch (received it yesterday) and after showing it to a few coworkers, sending texts etc over a 12 hour period, the battery was at around 33% when I got home. I have no doubt I could've gotten to around 16-17 with it.

Managed two days, well 8:00am Saturday till 10:00pm Sunday and had 14% left when putting it on the charger. Really impressed, as I'd taken a few calls and replied to a few messages and received a fair few notifications.

I take mine off the charger at around 6:30am, and it doesn't go back on until at least 22:30! Usually have around 40%+ battery left by the end of the day!

:apple: Watch SBSS 42MM

I find that the battery life of the SS SB 42MM watch is beyond what Apple conservatively estimate it at 18hrs. Mine goes almosts 2 days(about 37+ hrs) before I charge it up.

Anyone upped the brightness to 100% as a consequence of the better-than-advertised battery?

If so, any massive change in battery?

I've had my 38mm brightness at 100% since day one. Also have Haptic level on high with prominent haptic on. On average I get 30-40 email notifications, about two dozen texts and average one short phone call per day. My watch comes of charge at 7am and goes back on at 11pm with 40-50% charge remaining.

Yesterday I was 'outdoor cycling' between 6-7pm so I was happy to see the watch show 30% at 9pm. I put my watch on charge last night at 9pm, by 11pm it was 100%. I checked this morning and the battery was at 90%.

I had been complaining about bad watch battery life up the thread. It just so happens that I accidentally smashed my iPhone and I had it replaced over the weekend via AppleCare Plus.

Since then, my watch battery life has been much better. I have reached 11 hours since taking it off the charger, and remaining percentage is over 60% whereas previously I would be lukcy to have 30% at this stage.

I wonder if the bluetooth in my previous iPhone was flakey requiring the watch to work harder to connect?

Also a side question: I understand that the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch use Bluetooth 4 which is much more energy efficient than Bluetooth 3. If I then connect wireless headphones to the iPhone which are Bluetooth 3, does this make all devices only use Bluetooth 3, hence battery drain on the watch will be higher?
