My experience is same. It's amazing what software can do. Good work Apple, Two Thumbs Way Up!

Wow. It hasn't been a full day with the latest version but I am super impressed with the update. This small .1 update has taken this watch from a Gen 1 to Gen 2 for me. It's so much faster and responsive. I'm really liking this upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!

Backup/Restore Info

Nope on both counts

For those that consider trying the erase all contents and settings or the un-pair/re-pair of the watch with the phone to solve an issue here is what will be and won't be restored, not on the list but I lost the pairing of my bluetooth head phones as well :
Here's what your Apple Watch backup will include:
General system settings, such as your watch face, known Wi-Fi networks, brightness, sound, and haptic settings
Language
Time Zone
Settings for Mail, Calendar, Stocks, and Weather
App-specific data and settings, such as Maps, distance, and units
Health and Fitness data, such as history, achievements, and user-entered data (To back up Health and Fitness data, you need to use iCloud or an encrypted iTunes backup.)

Your backup won't include:
Workout and Activity calibration data from your Apple Watch
Playlists synced to your Apple Watch
Credit or debit cards used for Apple Pay on your Apple Watch
Passcode for your Apple Watch

Doing this caused me quite a headache and I wouldn't do it again unless I was having a major problem.

Issues with Watch OS 1.01

Posted on Apple Insider too.

I downloaded the Watch OS update at work. Had to wait till I got home to install with the charger attached. I noticed Taptic feedback without any sounds on notifications immediately. I checked all settings, restarted watch and iPhone, unpaired and paired again.

I then did a reset of the Watch. I chose erase all content and then set up as new. That fixed the sound issue but now Health app shows 2 watches. One with prior to reset data, one with after reset data. I deleted all "prior" data but now it just says No Data. I guess the only way to correct this is to restore the iPhone and start over. I don't want to mess up Apple pay that I have been using on occasion, so that is going to wait until the next iOS update.

I checked the data before deleting and noticed I have heart rate readings from when I was sleeping and the watch was not attached to me or the charger. More issues than just sporadic readings I believe.

Come on Watch OS 1.02.

I wanted to follow this up because last night I restarted my watch. Then a little while ago my wife texted me and again it went to the phone first and then about 20-30 seconds later came to the watch. Since doing that un-pair/re-pair it had functioned properly. So perhaps restarting the watch caused it to happen again. That pairing dance does not permanently fix the issue and really is not worth doing, not for this anyway.

However this time I went into Settings/Notifications on the phone and turned off Messages notifications. About 30 seconds later I turned it back on and tested it again. That fixed it. The text alerted on my watch not the phone. Of course if I restart the device again it'll probably happen again. But turning off that setting and turning it back on is far, far simpler than the pairing "dance".

I could swear I used to be able to see photo previews in messages but now it says to check my phone to view the photo.

You can get photo previews in messages. Someone mentioned that some types of photos won't display though -- something to do with the aspect ratio or something?
