Made me look up mine. Still every 10 mins for most of the day apart from workouts. Once a 20minute gap, and once an almost 3 hour gap!

I was pretty much at my desk for most of that 3 hrs, I wonder if it was a bug, or maybe if the motion sensor detects low movement it slows down the sampling rate.

I'm going with bug.

perhaps you are correct. i'll give it longer and re-evaluate.

Much better!!!!

Wow. It hasn't been a full day with the latest version but I am super impressed with the update. This small .1 update has taken this watch from a Gen 1 to Gen 2 for me. It's so much faster and responsive. I'm really liking this upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!

I second that. Everything just seems twice as fast.

i went and looked again and apparently it is still going on average of every 10 minutes. there are a couple of gaps so perhaps there is something that periodically interrupts it and it simply waits till the next interval to sample again.

Mine did the same, I unpaired and repaired the watch and the problem went away.

I'm having this too, only for non-iMessages. Happened before the update too and various fixes (soft reset/hard reset/repair) fixed it. I've tried everything apart from repairing so will do that now.

Be careful about unpairing. I did that and it did fix the Messages issue for me but created several others. All my Apple Pay cards/data were wiped off the watch. I will now have to reverify them. Some apps were removed from glances and some apps that I don't even have on the watch are in the glances list as if you could install them but you can't since they're not actually on the device.

I think I would have preferred not doing this. Just a warning you will have other problems if you choose to do it.

Can't put display to sleep by covering

With 1.0, I was able to put the watch display to sleep by covering it with my palm. That no longer works for me with 1.0.1.

Anyone else noticing this?

Still works for me after 1.0.1

After I did the update I did a reset on watch and phone because notifications didn't seem to be working quite right. (Reset by holding both buttons down).

I was curious about battery life so I left it off the charger all night, about 11:30pm to 6:30am. It was at 74% at night, when I woke, it was at 61%. I threw it on the charger about 20 minutes ago and it's now at 95. To me, that's completely different from what it was. Any other thoughts?

Hi Guys

wondering if some of you could help me! I've found an issue with voice delay on apple watch when answering calls, issue still exists in watch OS 1.01

could someone else try, I've reported the 2 issues here https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21322167/ I want to send this to a senior apple support agent, hopefully showing him its not just me!

they were able to replicate my issue in the shop, now I just need support to see its a bug others have.

13% drain while doing nothing seems really excessive; how far away was your phone from the watch during the night? That's the only thing I can think of.

Yes that was the most noticeable change after the update. It does still work but you'll have to leave your hand there for 3-4 seconds. Before the update it took maybe one second. I just unpaired and re-paired my watch to deal with the Messages sounding off first on my phone and then later the watch. That fixed that issue but caused others. The palm covering issue remains.

As I said it still works it just takes a lot longer. As for the unpairing I would caution against it. Just wait for a fix for these issues. I wish I had.

Really? I was thinking that was not bad for 7 hours on standby, although I have no idea how it compares to before the update. It's not doing nothing during that time -- it's in constant connection with the phone, for one thing.

Right next to each other. I didn't turn it on airplane mode just left it as be. I recieved about 20 or so text, a few missed calls, and about 14 emails.

I had done a small test like this about 4-5 days ago, and it seemed to kill the battery by about 25% in about 4 hours.

I thought I saw someone reporting a 6% loss of battery overnight off the charger sometime last week. But we can't really talk percentages without getting into whether we're comparing 42mm with 38mm...

But you have wrist detection enabled, right? In which case, when the watch is off your wrist it shouldn't be chiming and displaying notifications. Also, is yours a 38mm or 42mm?

Still does it for me. Have you restarted your watch AND your phone?

Just rest watch and phone. Still doesn't go to sleep with a palm cover.

Did a reset. Still doesn't work, even after 5 seconds. Not worth doing an unpair/repair just for this.

42mm sport, and that's true I picked up my phone first and saw the notifications... I just assumed they were on my watch.

Anyone else having an issue with 1.01 where a text comes through the phone first (including the screen turning on, notification + sound) and the Apple Watch gets the text about 3-4 seconds later? I've tried resetting the phone and watch and it still does it. Any other suggestions?

1) Turn bluetooth off on iPhone.
2) Enable airplane mode on your watch.
3) Shut down your iPhone
4) Shut down your Watch (hold down the button then slide "Power off")
5) Turn iPhone back on.
6) Turn bluetooth back on your iPhone.
7) Start watch.
8) Disable Airplane mode on your watch.

Please let me know if it helps you. You should be able to receive all notifications including iMessage/Email right away.

From my experiences with it, it's a bit fiddly if you're trying to cover it and still see if it turns off. The sure fire way to get it to turn off is to place my palm over the entire screen (so it's touching the entire screen). I can take my hand away almost immediately and it's off...

A Nice Feature to Have

When charging the Apple Watch, I wish I could see the percentage in the iPhone Apple Watch app (maybe in a badge icon) or turning the app on and it'll say how much battery remaining and while charging how much more to go...

Just tried covering it more than I used to. It's works intermittently. I really think there is a difference between 1.0 and 1.0.1. My watch was an early one (received on release day). I wonder if there were hardware changes during production. Wouldn't surprise me if there were.
