Watch S3 & OS5.0.1 - Ping on Charger

While my Series 3 Apple watch is on the Apple charger in nightstand mode, I am getting a "ping" every 2-5 minutes, the display comes on and then it goes off, similar to what happens when you put the watch on the charger at first. This has never happened before and only started immediately after I upgraded to Watch OS 5.0.1.

I can get round it by putting it on silent and putting it face down, but that defeats the purpose of Nightstand Mode.

Any ideas ?

I think many people, including myself have been having this issue. Hopefully it’s adressed in 5.1.
I have found that taking the watch off the charger and putting it back onto the chargwr stops the regular pinging for me.
