Apple Original Films this week released a trailer for its upcoming "F1" racing film, which will have a theatrical release via Warner Bros. Pictures.

In the film, Brad Pitt stars as an F1 driver who was an up-and-coming talent in the 1990s, until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, Pitt is invited to join a former teammate's struggling F1 team, in a last-shot bid to save the team and become the best in the world. It looks to be a classic underdog story.

The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is known for other popular action films, including "Tron: Legacy" and "Top Gun: Maverick."

"F1" debuts in theaters on Friday, June 27, and it has the potential to be a summer blockbuster. It will be available to stream on Apple TV+ at a later date.

In the U.S., Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month, or $99 per year. A free seven-day trial is available. The streaming service is also included in all Apple One bundles, and going that route can get you up to a one-month free trial.

In related news, the Apple Sports app gained support for F1 racing this week.

"it has the potential to be a summer blockbuster"

OK. Why not. To me it looks like a Pitt stop...

Last time I saw Pitt (and Clooney) on Apple TV+ it was quite boring. Big names don't necessarily make a blockbuster.

Are they trying to surf on the Gran Turismo (2023) wave ?

Lol tell me you don’t know what you’re talking about without telling me you don’t know what you’re talking about

Seems like an action scene packed simplistic racing drama fiction with some Drive to Survive type filming. Found the trailer boring.

I'm talking about the trailer shown above ⬆️ and recent movies with Pitt, or car races...
Also, I have personally attended F1 Grand Prix when F1 was really exciting and not a commercial for Dubai, Las Vegas or Apple, so I think I know what I'm talking about !

I feel like I’ve seen this movie before: old guy winding down his sports career reluctantly mentors his younger replacement. However, it has a decent look to it so I may give it a try.

They made like F1 is USA where is it is totally not, Brad Pitt totally not fit for this and no clue who that other dude is. But then again this movie is made to make F1 attractive to the US, good luck with it.

Have you seen Gran Truismo? It looks very similar, sim and Le Mans vs F1, but same vibe.

+1
Brad Pitt is too tall and too old for F1. F1 is not NASCAR. Pitt could be a credible F1 engineer or manager, why not, but not a pilot.

Unlikely to be anywhere as good as Rush, but this trailer looks more promising than the teaser. But do we need it, or is Drive to Survive the same but real?

Anyway, no other sport combines the best of the best of human excellence - engineering, physicality, and strategy - better than FI, so I will definitely watch it.

Why are Apple making movies? They should concentrate on their core business.
They buy movie rights and may have them produced on their behalf to add them to the Apple services to make money. Their core business is hardware and services these days.
