I’m not a big fan of this guy kinda hard to ignore the stuff he has done outside of acting 👎🏻
What? You don't like dilettantes who fancy themselves experts on subjects such as architecture because they read some big coffee table books on architecture and hang with Frank Gehry? Or guys who beat up kids on a private jet? Or guys who create charities to rebuild cities after hurricanes with big splashy announcements and celebs but then bail when actual work needs to be done leaving homeowners with unlivable structures? C'mon maaaan! It's the 2020's!

I feel like I’ve seen this movie before: old guy winding down his sports career reluctantly mentors his younger replacement. However, it has a decent look to it so I may give it a try.
Like the Pixar movie Cars without faces on the front of the cars (I serioulsly love the plot of Cars)

That’s like saying nobody will go the cinema but wait for the DVD instead. Action films like this are generally much better on the giant cinema screen.
I prefer the giant screen in my AVP to the smelly cinema!

I look forward to watching it, but I think Brad Pitt is a bit too old for this role. Yes, he looks great, but still.

Why are Apple making movies? They should concentrate on their core business.

Because pretty much everything that they have made has been outstanding?

It’s not like they have a lack of cash, and guess what, none of the people on the movie side would be doing anything on the “core business” side.

Anyone could have made those movies and TV shows. There’s nothing unique about them. If they weren’t on AppleTV they would be on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

It’s a distraction. The senior managers are focused on this instead of focusing on the boring stuff like making better software products.

I think this looks great, it is a really interesting trailer, with very dramatic music (and featuring the F1 theme for many years with The Chain by Fleetwood Mac - although the instrumental section not the sang part in the trailer).

The way the cars are filmed, very much like Top Gun Maverick with the planes which is expected with the same director and a very interesting lead duo in Javier Bardem and Pitt.. I am looking forward to this in the Cinema where it will look its best.

Suuuure they are. I'm sure the senior managers were doing makeup, special effects, touching up the script, driving the craft services truck, adjusting the lighting, checking sound levels, going line by line through contracts with cast and crew, securing music rights, scouting locations, making sure no animals were harmed...

Apple Original Films is a subsidiary of Apple. A production company.

The coupon pays the cinema. The cinema still charges $10 for a small popcorn.

And by what logic should you get a coupon? You also don’t receive free vinyl vouchers as part of your music streaming services, at least none that I know of. That would incentivize a different business.

The assumption that a company with more than a hundred thousand employees cannot have a services devision that produces movies next to a software product team is a tad far fetched.

It is an Apple movie that will eventually be free on Apple TV+. It's not comparable to getting free vinyl of a song on Apple Music.

I'm talking about the trailer shown above ⬆️ and recent movies with Pitt, or car races...
Also, I have personally attended F1 Grand Prix when F1 was really exciting and not a commercial for Dubai, Las Vegas or Apple, so I think I know what I'm talking about !
I think it's the fact you're referencing the Gran Turismo movie as a comparison (or what have you) when in reality all they share are cars and a race track. That movie was about a game to track competition and that super unique success story which wasn't marketed to the general public. This will be. F1 has been putting A LOT of money and effort into their overall product, this is another part of it which they are using to broaden their reach as well with the Dubai and Vegas plays which has added a lot of excitement to the sport. I highly doubt they will be fumbling this, this trailer just doesn't show much plot.

Looks like a good film. Not sure whether I will see it in IMAX or wait for it to be available on TV+

I’m expecting a mind-blowingly good looking and sounding movie with a plot so boring and repetitive that I’ll only watch it once. Just like Maverick.

Hence Apple shouldn’t have to pay a cinema on your behalf. It’s a different business. Streaming services like atv don’t come with free entitlement to a physical product experience.

I disagree with people who say it's about money per se.
Ecosystem is what "traps" people. That's why all non-iPhone things exist even if they make much less money.
