The last time F1 was interesting and relevant in movies when Tony Stark faced Whiplash in IM2Et voilà.
but do these movies make money for Apple? or is it just an expensive hobby?May be because "their core business" is making money.
I guess some staff are easier to re-apply elsewhere than others. But I guess it's totally possible to just be successful in some business areas. From a content perspective, probably a good one to advertise with. Big names, big title. It's not as if they send their engineers to write Apple Intelligence instead of working on actual products...
Agreed and I hope that continues. I would rather they focus on their hardware and software than other areas such as entertainment services. They still make great computers IMO.
I was just thinking that. Apple seems to be morphing from a tech company into a media company. Why are Apple making movies? They should concentrate on their core business.
This is typical for AyrtonThis is awesome! Now Apple TV+ will have TWO movies.

They're crying all the way to the bank!"it has the potential to be a summer blockbuster"
OK. Why not. To me it looks like a Pitt stop...
Last time I saw Pitt (and Clooney) on Apple TV+ it was quite boring. Big names don't necessarily make a blockbuster.
Are they trying to surf on the Gran Turismo (2023) wave ?
You are right to say that this movie aims to promote F1 in the USA, but you are wrong to say that they won't succeed. F1 is growing fast in the USA un TV audition. Currently, there are two grand races in the USA, and next year there will be a United Statian car brand team: Cadillac (General Motors)They made like F1 is USA where is it is totally not, Brad Pitt totally not fit for this and no clue who that other dude is. But then again this movie is made to make F1 attractive to the US, good luck with it.
It’s being released in cinemas long before Apple TV. Most die hard F1 fans will go watch there.Huge potential to bring in subscribers the enormous f1 fanbase globally.
Will I won't be, so no, many will wait for Apple TV+It’s being released in cinemas long before Apple TV. Most die hard F1 fans will go watch there.
And during that time they’ve continually neglected their software business building poor quality apps that rarely get updated.25% of Apple's revenue comes from its services segment, and although Apple TV+ may be more recent, they've been in the "media" and "entertainment" business for over 2 decades.
Either way, this movie is very different to other movies from Apple. Huge potential to bring in subscribers the enormous f1 fanbase globally.
There are 3 races in the US...Vegas, Miami and AustinYou are right to say that this movie aims to promote F1 in the USA, but you are wrong to say that they won't succeed. That’s like saying nobody will go the cinema but wait for the DVD instead. Action films like this are generally much better on the giant cinema screen. Will I won't be, so no, many will wait for Apple TV+
And bankrupt the cinemas. An Apple TV+ subscriber should have the option of getting a coupon from Apple to watch the film in a theatre without paying at the theatre. It's eventually going to be on TV+ for subscribers. It could boost TV+ enrolment.
Not saying that it won't be successful, but like F1 Drive to Survive it is far from the real F1. The real F1 die-hards are left alone with this kind of stuff but kinda expected it if you use Brad Pitt as main character. You are right to say that this movie aims to promote F1 in the USA, but you are wrong to say that they won't succeed. The coupon pays the cinema. The cinema still charges $10 for a small popcorn. And bankrupt the cinemas.
