Giddy as a school girl.

edit....not sure why the pic is sideways, but it just shows this watch still looks amazing no matter what the angle. :)

Yesterday there were a flood of charges early afternoon (EST). None today?

Yeah looks like this is going to be a long process considering they have only shipped out the first half hour of ordering. June is getting very far away at this point :(

Just checked and 38mm xx:06 changed to preparing for shipment! Whooo hoo!

Delivered!!

This thing is just beautiful. Had to remove 5 links for the almost-perfect fit.

Nearly done with initial sync, but so far I'm in love.

Asking questions to those who've received their watches .. May be I'll take this to another new thread later ..

Has anyone noticed that the watch comes on and stays on while you are at the steering wheel..? Probably because it has a quick glance feature when you raise the arm, however I'm noticing that the watch stays on and may be even causing my watch battery to drain quicker than my actual intended usage pattern.

Your thoughts and observation please ??

My order was placed on April 15 with a "June" delivery. I just bought one on eBay $200 above which will be here on Friday. Not sure if I'm happy or disgusted with myself :|

$200 premium isn't that bad considering what I have seen some of them going for.

I ordered the 42MM Stainless Steel Link at 7:38AM CST on 4/10 still processing at 3:49PM CST on 5/12.

Would love to see movement this week, but I've slowly realized its wishful thinking.

On a more positive note, my fiancé's 42MM Milnese Loop that was ordered at the same time will be delivered tomorrow!

Thanks for all the updates everyone, keeps the agony of waiting entertaining!

I had an X:08 confirmation, but yesterday I received an e-mail that there was a payment glitch with PayPal. I got PayPal straightened out and spoke with an Apple representative, who reported that she saw the payment approved.

This morning, before business hours on the West Coast, my watch went to PFS. Then in a couple of hours in went to shipped. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Neither Bank Account nor PayPal updated yet. Just wanted to post an update on the process.

When it happens, it happens FAAAAST!!!

BTW, I got an email from Apple on Monday evening saying that the payment had been declined and that my order had been CANCELLED!!! That set me back for a few seconds, but it must be some kind of form letter.

My heart is with all of those waiting; and especially for the SB folks, who ordered the highest tech watch apple could produce. Hang in there. Good things happen to those who wait.

This has been commented on by various reviewers and their opinions were that it does have an impact on battery life. This could possibly be improved in a future software release.

To those of you that got yours already, how long after the shipment email did your tracking go live? I'm pushing 4 hours now.

Link Bracelet Build Quality

The quality of the band surprised me. When I first saw the bracelet at the launch event, the design and simplicity intrigued me. It was the main reason why I decided to make the purchase. Being the watch guy that I am, I was mainly interested to see what standard apple would achieve with the band, and I can now confirm that the link band is comparable to the craftmanship of the Swiss.

Here are a few quality/expensive Swiss watches to compare including Panerai, Rolex, Chopard, and Girard Perregaux. Do notice though that the Apple watch bracelet is wider.

On the wrist, the band feels surprisingly comfortable and smooth. The brushed finish is very precise and clean. The clasp is an engineering marvel that blows the rest out of the water. Due to its thin profile, it reminds me of wearing a titanium band.

It will be interesting to see how well it holds up to daily use.

I'm sure mine was more than four hours, at least it felt like it. When the tracking did go live, the only status was that a shipping label and been created. But, it looks like once it goes into "Shipped" it is pretty much next day delivery!

But is it worth $449?

Technically, June is getting closer by the second :p

Note: I'm a June order, too - ordered MUCH later than most here - 4/29.

Definitely close to that price point. Do realize that most Swiss bands are 1k+

I can guarantee that all the 3rd party stainless bracelets are incomparable since they stride to make quantity over quality. That's what differentiates a Rolex from the cheap $50-100 stainless watches.

I had to replace a band for an iwc and it was nearly 1.6k. 449 is a drop in the bucket in comparison.

Great to hear. So when the knockoff bands start to appear, what specifically is about them that will be of inferior quality.
