I feel like one of the more likely ones might be scratching of the casing, especially on the Sport. I really hope not though because I am most likely going to be purchasing the sport...

Scratch-gate - I bet that Sport model with the glass screen will scratch fairly easily. Someone will do it and complain. Loudly. On Twitter.

Water-gate - With most watches do you even have to think whether you can wear it to wash the dishes? I'll be surprised if this doesn't come up.

Sun-gate - Can't see the screen outside in direct sunlight, what good is this watch anyway?

That would kind of...surprising? Ironic? That the new gate would be Watergate. I can see that happening.

Connecting the Apple Watch to your iPhone via Bluetooth changes your phone's OS to WebOS.

Metal allergy -gate is the most realistic one I can think of.

Yeah, "nickel-gate" for nickel allergies with the stainless steel model, is the first thing that came to mind for me.

Then there'll be "golden-gate" when it's discovered that overseas factory workers used lead in place of a lot of the gold in the Edition model, and kept most of the gold for themselves

Seriously, where is the Watch Edition going to be made? Anybody heard?

.

I bet there will a 'scandal' where people show how easy it is to remove the Apple Watch from unsuspecting people's wrists, just by distracting them and pulling the magnetic band at some spot.

It won't matter that watches can be stolen in similar ways today. It will be a brand new 'scandal'.

I'm half expecting someone to demonstrate sliding a piece of multi-colored plastic (to simulate a pulse as it slides slightly back and forth) under a person's Watch, removing the combination and putting on their own wrist... and then buying stuff with that person's Apple Pay, without ever triggering the skin proximity alarm to cause Apple Pay to reset.

Can't think of a good "gate" name for that yet :)

I'm actually guessing Switzerland.

Yep, sounds like a good 'gate'. Doing this will be very complicated and intrusive, but to be effective, you'd have to do this without the watch wearer knowing what you're doing. So, pretty much impossible to pull off. But it would then cause Apple to change the way Apple Pay works, inconveniencing everyone for something that would never happen.

Wristgate: the pulse sensor will be completely inaccurate if worn too loosely or too low on the wrist. :apple:'s response, "You're wearing it wrong"

The way the sport band snaps together makes me very worried about how secure it is. It looks like it's just being held on by the little metal bump, there's no buckle or anything.

Oh lawd, how did you even think this proposition up?

Sniffing the box inserts? And just when I thought I'd seen it all. lolz.

Bloody bend gate is coming with the watch. Just you wait and see.

Standupagain-gate

Office floors going crazy with staff being advised to standup at 27 intervals by their watch which has also increased power to the taptic feedback and now gives an enormous blow to the wrist causing the wearer to moan at the moment they stand up.

This has also led to world record breaking house auctions. A two bed terraced house in Compton is now on its way to a $1billion dollar bid.

Honestly this has been my biggest concern since before Apple Watch was even announced.

I had an LED watch that required me to press a button to activate the display, which I hated.

Then I got a Pebble Steel, and I LOVE the fact that its display is always on. I can just glance over to see it. And if it's too dark where I'm at, the screen lights up with just a quick shake of the wrist.

I forsee this, aside from battery life, being the biggest annoyance of the Apple Watch.

This concerns me too - I wonder if there will be a setting to make the watch display your clock/dial/whatever all the time. I can't imagine a relatively static dial against a black background would kill battery life too much.

It will be annoying if it ends up being "let me check the time"
::raises wrist::

::and again::
::takes out iphone to check time::

Barring something gravely wrong with the design/function, it will be just as overblown as bend- and antenna-.

Had an iPhone 4 and 6 Plus since launch. No bends on the latter, and I could influence the signal on the 4 only if I turned both my hands into a womb, and even then only force it into No Service when I was already on one bar.

Raingate - Hey! my watch aint working anymore I was out in the rain for like 5 mins!

Water resistance seems so important to some....

you know all the elitist watch wearer are already on the offensive as it's not a watch per say according to their standard.

Battery-gate is really the most obvious one. It will have to be charge everyday.

I think Hapgate.

I found issues similar to others expressed regarding the notifications haptic vibration when I went to do my try on appointment. I could barely feel it tell me it had a message.

Putting gate at the end is stupid and I suspect the majority of people who even use the term don't even know the origins.
[/rant]

Seems a little premature for such discussions since the watch isn't even out.
