I've been on os2 beta 2 since last week when it came out. I was getting great battery life until 2 nights ago. Started getting crazy fast battery drain. I did not change anything at all just the same standard use I was using. I tried unpairing and restoring didn't help then tried unpairing and using from scratch. Still getting crazy fast drain. No installed apps and my watch face complications are battery calendar and activity. I also turned off all glances. Anyone else go from good battery life to horrible on beta 2 and find a fix?

Mine went great on the first 2 days of Beta 2, could get almost to bed time before it died (not quite as good as Version 1.01 but better than the 7 hours Beta 1 was giving me!).

Then the next few days it went dire again, then for the last 3 days its been great. I have 78% left after taking it off charge 7 hours ago. Its really all over the place battery wise (same is happening with iOS 9 on my iPhone).

So battery is no longer my beta 2 annoyance its the fact i don't get any digital touch notifications showing on the watch unless i manually load notifications, and i have no haptic feedback from them either so no pulse or secret taps :(

It's funny you mentioned that. Mine over the last 2 days has drained faster than normal

I also noticed this when checking usage. I know it's connected because I can install and remove apps from the app still

I did the chat route. She set up an appointment on Tuesday.

I would avoid the Apple store. Just have them send you a box. Mine came overnight. It's probably faster than you can get a genius bar appointment. Plus, the genius bar sucks.

You received your replacement watch overnight or the box for your return watch overnight?

Yeh it sucks mainly because in most cases the genius lacks empathy as much as they lack genius!

I'm running into the same problem and have done the same things. I'm hoping 3 fixes it.

Apple Store service just gets worse. Even though I did an online chat with Apple Care+ and they setup for me to come to the store for replacement, I just got here and was told the wait would be two hours. Considering that it's a straight replacement waiting for a Genius seems unnecessary.

Yeh as if a staff member needs to be a 'Genius' and trained to swap out a device. I guess box-opening is a specialised skill?

Maybe if 'regular' staff members could swap out devices they might get confused and give the original device back to customers.

You get the return box overnight, you send it in, takes a few business days, and your replacement watch arrives.

Yes, you'll need to live without your watch for a few days. Wasn't that difficult, considering for me, WatchOS 2 Beta 1 and 2 were virtually useless anyways.

Call me KRAZY, but I dont mind the beta. I dont find it that buggy. What bugs are there I can live with. Certainly battery is an issue but for some reason today (i cant figure out why) battery is back to normal (ending day with 40%)

Whow I am really struggling with the second beta. My iPhone was in service so I got a refurb one, installed 9.0 Beta 2 on it and tried to connect the watch again. Did not work so I tried to restore the watch.

That's where the drama starts, watch freezes when the loading ring appears. Sometimes on 5 bars, after reset on 35 bars (or so), another time on only one bar. It's killing me

I have been having headaches with this beta, watchOS 2 beta 2 is certainly trash. When restoring the device and re-pairing it always freezes and gives an error when verifying my Apple ID. I reset the device in the first place because I noticed it was getting my calls, but NOT my iMessages. basically saying I need to answer from my iPhone.

if you set a city as default it stops it from draining your battery. It is a definite bug and I have made reports on it.

You mean setting a city in the weather app as default? so the watch is not using the gps signal from the iphone?
I will try it. thx

Ok I need your guys help.

I was resetting my watch with b2 because I got a new iPhone.
Only It hang on 35% so I did a hard reset.

Now it's stuck on 3 of 5 bars in that progress wheel (with Apple logo in the middle).
What should I do? Wait or keep resetting and hope it boots trough

Edit: Already tried contacting Apple BTW, There is a downgrade option at my local (2 hour drive local :p ) Apple Store only the first appointment option is the 9th of july. So thats not really a option for now.

You can still unpair it when it's in that state. I know this because that's how mine mostly is. It might reboot a couple of times, or you might have to hard reset to finish the process.

Mine's been constantly crashing, freezing and rebooting, so I'm turning it off until next Tuesday, when we will obviously have the next beta version made available to us. Shame, since it will clearly prevent my developering.
I was just having this issue - thought the watch was hosed, but I noticed Apple Pay wasn't working on the watch, so I rebooted the phone... That seems to have done the trick.

YMMV

It has rebooted a couple of times (like six or seven) but after a couple of hours trying and so on its finally booted up.

This was my wake up call. Never try a watch beta again. Not even when I am back to developing.

Those requesting a return and re flash. Who did you contact?
