what do you mean by " It's own wifi credentialing "

like being able to connect to a new wifi network directly on the apple watch, including entering passwords and clicking on i agree on the watch itself? and using a tiny keyboard???

Yes, and no. I don't care if the interface is managed through the watch app on the phone, but we should be able to have a different set of credentials stored in the watch vs the phone. This will resolve issues some people are having 2.4 ghz vs. 5 ghz.

I worked around this an home (blocked my ipa d and iPhone's MAC addresses from the 2.4 ghz band), but when I go to other people's places, I have to have both networks stored on my phone, which makes me end up on their 2.4 ghz.

A more sophisticated workout app with more options for different kinds of exercise. For example, if one does some sort of HIIT right now, the watch undercounts burned calories by a lot, and it has gotten even worse with Watch OS2.

I would like the ability to zoom the icons, with the wheel. i find the touch targets to be too small and almost always launch the wrong app

I don't use nightstand mode, but in looking at it now -- ability to add complications to the nightstand face. Cool? It'd be nice to have the time, date, and weather, at least for those of you who aren't as nearsighted as I am.

I just want to be able to change the month in the Calendar. But other than that:

* Text input. Can't dictate in meetings (without looking like a crazy person).
* Nightstand mode in portrait orientation (for most of the docks on the market).
* Do more without a phone connection - such as FaceTime Audio, etc.

The HR sensor supposedly has the capability of measuring blood oxygen (http://9to5mac.com/2015/04/24/apple-watch-blood-oxygen/)

I hope they will allow it to finally utilize this (if they get FDA approval), but I don't expect it.
Even if the hardware can do it, this is Apple, so I fully expect it to only be supported on the AW 2 (and a BS excuse about there not being enough processing power on the AW 1).

  • Night/Cinema mode or some kind of timed or selectable profiles.
  • Ability to copy/paste/clone watch face layouts so you don't have to start from scratch.
  • Better home/app screen layout... perhaps pages like iOS
  • Ability to pair with cellular iPad instead of iPhone only. For those who carry their iPads everywhere in backpacks bags etc. No need to be iPhone only as all you'd miss out on is phone calls.

I would like to see more maturity in the fitness apps. perhaps being able to do everything that the FitbitHR could do. I would also like to see more watch faces, maybe more animated characters instead of just Mickey Mouse, (although Mickey is a favorite of mine, maybe other Disney characters like Donald Duck, Goofy and for the ladies a Minnie Mouse or Daisy Duck.

I'd like to see an "iphone security alarm system". Basically an app or feature that uses bluetooth, wifi and gps to keep tabs on your iphone.

The way it would work is this...

Whenever you are out and about (like at a bar) and if you get separated from your phone then an alarm would go off on the phone and on the watch. At first, as the phone is heading out of range, you would get a gentle reminder to return to your phone if you've just forgotten it. Also at that point, you can turn off the alarm from the watch if it was your intent to leave the phone.

Now if have the misfortune of having your phone stolen, once our of bluetooth range then a full loud alarm would go off on the phone letting you know where it is and who has it. You can even set it to have find my iphone automatically open on your watch.

Now to go a little deeper...

If you are in a loud place and you can't hear the alarm, the map on the watch would automatically open. Using the wifi and gps on the phone, the watch would show you where the phone is and/or moving and also providing turn by turn navigation.

Also the watch can act as an electronic key. Basically as soon as that alarm goes off, the phone is locked down. Meaning the thief can not turn off the alarm, he can not even turn off the phone with the power button, nor can he just pull out the sim card. Not being able to turn off the phone and with all that tracking, his only choice would be to discard the phone.

Lord knows that now famous Apple employee that lost the iphone 4 prototype at a bar could have used this feature. lol

I'd be fine with this if I could easily switch it on and off. I don't need my watch and phone freaking out when I leave my apartment to take out the trash or pick up dinner.

I thought of the solution to this problem. when you are at home on your wifi network it would shut automatically shut off.

But, when I'm at work and leave my phone in my locker (on purpose, too), I'd like to deactivate it.

Maybe it could be like Find My iPhone, in that the AW could give me the option to find/report the phone as missing when it won't ping from the watch.

But, I suppose doing this would need an Internet connection from the watch itself. Might be just as useful to borrow someone else's phone or a computer.

Have you checked out the new VimoFit app? its still in a beta but it will track rep and set automatically and can be used for hiitt training....i dont have an apple watch(yet) but the app looks great and good reviews

A lot more complications/watch faces to choose from. Also would like to see some sharing and more goals in the fitness app

Being able to use it with a sim card like other competitors so it is not so dependent on the iPhone or Wifi but it can't be a software update so it will for Apple Watch 2...

EDIT: didn't mean it as a response to your comment sorry.

Keyboard for short texts. If MS can do it, so can Apple.

Cellular connectivity WITHOUT needing to pay device access to the carrier.

Thanks, I will look into this app.

Better fitness apps, anything where I want to track my walking with a map I'll stick with my Garmin.
Still needs to go faster, workouts app has lag in too many places.
The watch app on the phone is still an inconsistent mess in my opinion.
Edit: I love my watch but there's plenty to improve!

You can already do that. You can zoom in fairly close, but zooming into much will actually launch the center app of where it zooms into.

Not really. You can zoom in on the icon, but once you stop turning the crown the UI zooms back out.

The watch also has wifi and you can set it up that when the watch and phone are on the same wifi network to shut off the feature. so whether you are home or at the office the feature won't engage.
