The watch also has wifi and you can set it up that when the watch and phone are on the same wifi network to shut off the feature. so whether you are home or at the office the feature won't engage.
I understand that much, but it's still not for me. We don't have a wifi network worth speaking about at work.

1) Seconds on digital faces (configurable)
2) Use the "friends" button to pause/resume during workout
3) Notification from the watch if it's no longer connected to the phone via Bluetooth and no longer on WiFi (configurable)
4) Stats on the iPhone App to show which battery usage per app (like for the phone)
5) Easy way to switch watch between phones (I have an older unlocked phone for international travel)
6) Allow e.g. calendar to sync between multiple phones (e.g. personal and company phone)

As silly as it sounds. I would like a beep beep tone or small double tap for every top of the hour mark. Or maybe a classy wall clock that gongs every hour. Something along those lines.

The ability to "learn" what a user considers to be a "wrist raise".

If I raise my wrist to see the time, but it doesn't turn on, I need to tap the face, right? If I frequently tap the watch face in a certain position, it's probably a position where I hope to see the time. Maybe the OS could keep track of activation taps and match them with watch positioning.

Shorter update time! (Even though OS 2 "only" took an hour.)
Other than that, I'm looking forward to being surprised.

I'd like to see the raise to see time automatically sense no light so not turn off while I'm in bed.

I''d like watch os2 to make an appreciable difference to my user experience before worrying about os3! The two third party apps I use the most are Dark Sky and Nike+. The former has become buggy and unusable and the latter hasn't been updated and remains pretty hopeless.

Other than a properly native running app utilising the HR monitor, the single biggest improvement I'd wish for is the ability to have the display on full time. As someone who used to wear a conventional watch, having to touch it or turn my wrist to see the time is a real pain. Probably a hardware upgrade required first for that though. If that is a feature of AW2 I can see myself upgrading (possibly to a SS version) at that time.

- Third party watch faces (or, at least, more first party ones). In particular, a couple of analogue faces which are rectangular; ability to have the second hand tick; change colour of individual complications (perhaps also configureable from iPhone app); a digital face with seconds; a couple more analogue faces with numbers rather than dashes, or the option for numbers on faces like Simple and Colour; and some more faces which take into account the versatility of the display. The watch has a full colour, OLED screen and yet most faces replicate a standard watch. I'd like more contextually-aware faces, a bit like the Solar or Timelapse faces.

- A few more first party apps. I think Reminders, Find My Friends and Voice Memos are three apps that could be great for the watch, yet Apple have decided not to implement them for some reason (yet we do get a Stocks app...). All three would work well on a smaller screen - with some tweaks of course - and would just help the watch do little things quicker than the iPhone.

- Small thing, but ability to swap what single-clicking and double-clicking the 'Friends' button does. I use Apple Pay far more than sending strange sketches to friends, so it's annoying that it's harder to access.

I love that idea. So many times I wish it would have turned on, and I have to tap the face.

Better fitness app would be nice. While it's nice to have, it's far from being advanced enough.

Yeah, you got it.

I started thinking more about it after I posted. I would bet big money that Apple tested possible orientations and motions while wearing it, maybe even using a method like I described, seeking to hit a balance between visibility versus battery life (and, long-term, display life). It works well for me most of the time — maybe 90%, if I'm honest — but there are those instances where I just wish I didn't have to tap it.

I thought that would also be a really good addition to the underlying software and it will help them later with other iterations of the hardware of the watch.

Another feature that I want is the ability to set watch faces based on time of day, I want a modular face at night for sleep, utility in the morning, a modular one while working out at noon and then back to my regular utility at 1pm. It is currently much to much work to keep changing the face consistently to what I want.
If that is too much to ask at least an ability to arrange the watch faces would also be nice. Like swipe up and you can scroll side to side then pull it back down into the slot you want the face to be in would be helpful.

Now that WatchOS 2 is here, bringing many of the features that should have been there from the start, what do you want or expect with WatchOS 3?

I'd like new Apple apps, like notes, and reminders. More options for watch faces, as well as somehow allowing third party faces. What else?

I want external speaker to work for everything.

- The fitness app needs a major overhaul. The colors are horrible. I agree with someone above that having the ability to remove exercises we don't use would be nice. I'd like the ability to add workouts manually: I don't wear my watch while playing pickup basketball or swimming, it would be nice to have those added to my workout summary and tracking.

- It would be nice if the watch showed the cell signal strength of the phone. I keep my phone in my pocket, or backpack when I am biking around town. It would be nice to know if I have signal without pulling out my phone.

- The Maps directions are useful but i don't understand why they cramp all the direction information to the left side of the screen. It's very bland, it could use some modernizing, I like what Google does with their directions interface.

-Reminders app is a must. Seems like a huge oversight that we can't check off stuff on the lists.
