Still doesn’t work
[doublepost=1531935857][/doublepost]

I appreciate that but you’d expect the biggest bug to fixed with a new beta.
It's a beta!

Don't want weird bugs, don't use a beta!

Although I do appreciate that you appreciate it's a beta!

As a general comment...

Contacts are listed as fixed in the latest beta release notes, but that doesn’t mean it’ll start working again if you just upgrade from the existing beta to the new one without resetting everything, because you’re going from a version where the feature is broken and in an unknown state to a version that expects the state to be sensible from the start.

I’ve experienced plenty of issues where a beta causes something to be messed up somewhere, and that results in a feature not working properly or an app crashing in the final release, due to the same reason.

Part of running betas is that you may have to reset everything again after installing the new beta (or the final release) to ensure things work as expected.

And, of course, always run the latest beta on both devices (phone and watch), as changes made in one might be relying on changes made in the other, and unlike final releases, betas make little consideration for ensuring compatibility with prior beta versions.

Godspeed, testers!

Is it stable enough to run as a daily on beta 4??

Your mileage may vary, but I would say so. I have a S2 & S3 and ran it on the S2 for a few weeks before committing it to my ‘main’ watch. I’ve just put it on my S3 as well now and have no real issues. Fluid and responsive with comparable battery life to OS4.

As I say though everyone is slightly different.

I find the latest beta is fine, however previous ones have had major issues for me.... Beta 2 had HUGE battery drain, 15% per hour... Beta 3 had the contacts issue.

Is anybody else having issues with the apple watch storage with this beta. I received a couple of messages this morning saying my storage is full on my watch. I checked and it is indeed full but there are 0 songs, 17 pictures, and 1 application, how can that be full? Could it have held the previous watchOS versions?

Looks like an unpairing and re-pairing worked. It is all freed up now.

So has anyone else completed and won a week-long Activity "Competition"?

I, along with an Apple Watch wearing friend, both upgraded our watches to watchOS5 and went through a week-long competition (of which, I handily won, but that's another story). I got a notification on the watch, but I still see empty/outlined awards on the awards section of the Activity app. Like I haven't participated nor won yet - but I've done both!

Anyone else get a different result?

I'm halfway through two competitions with some friends and have figured out the current scoring mechanism is as follows:

It’s a percentage of the three rings per day maxing at 600%=600 points (ie logically doubling of each ring).

However the cap isn’t per ring ie 200% for stand, 200% for exercise etc. you could do 0% for standing but 600% for exercise (3 hours) and it’d get you the 600 point max. On one day I got >600 points vs one person but for another person it capped at the 600 points but hey it's a beta..

It would be good to see if they did some logical caps on this to avoid excessive gaming plus encourage a healthy approach to things such as:

1. Limit standing to 130% (otherwise you are getting less than 8 hours sleep which is not great).
2. Limit exercise times to 200% (otherwise someone just going for a three hour walk would get 600%/600points)
3. Have the residual 270% go towards the move goal so you really need to go above and beyond to get the 600 point max for a day. You could game it by setting a crazy low daily move goal, but your friends would easily be able to call you on this.

Some of us old timers really appreciate the work that many of you do with these betas and the feedback here. So I must say thank you to all of you. I try to stay on top with the betas and updates, but I am slow. :)

This beta has been solid for me, and charging works better, but battery is still not great.

Does os5 still have the same crippled music app as os4? As in inability to scroll through songs on a playlist on the phone. Cannot believe how Apple dropped the excellent functionality of the music app from os3 and prior versions.

Anyone else experiencing this:

On the Siri face, the workout icon is the guy in a wheelchair. I’m not disabled, nor have I ever done a wheelchair workout. Is this a bug? I’ve tried toggling on/off and doing different workouts... doesn’t do anything.

Yes. I cannot figure out a way to scroll through the songs on playlists in WatchOS5.

Now you say it, yep you’re right. That’s what I get. And now I’ve seen it, I can’t undo it!

Activity detection seems hit and miss at the moment. Here are my results:

Friday: Walked for hours outside and inside (nothing detected)
Saturday: Walked for hours, had lunch, walked a few hours. Walked an hour (detected a walk) for 38 mins. More walking, nothing
Sunday: Walking all day. Nothing automatically detected.

Using an AW S3 LTE.

It's a beta so I kinda expect this. Hopefully the full release will be better. No cycling detecting at all though (which a Fitbit detects).

That's weird, mine is always prompting me when I'm walking around on the commute...

Very weird! It's a beta so, if yours works, I suspect mine will maybe in the next beta or final.

I walked so much Friday (22,000 steps at least) so it's weird, nothing was detected.

Last week it detected an indoor run when I was outside. I will wait till the next update :)

I have AW series 3 lte (but lte not activated). I find the exercise detection when I am walking around inconsistent. Sometimes it will detect exercise in 5 minutes, and sometimes after 15 it will not detect it at all.
