Even though this is getting way off topic for this thread now, I highly doubt they're going to add a face with more complications to existing watch models, simply due to the additional RAM and CPU requirements of having more apps running/being queried regularly. Every additional complication is another app that needs to be kept in memory and periodically woken up for background processing.

The "Colour" face has the ability to run 4 complications on all current AWs, whilst the "Modular" face can run 5 on all models. The current watches are easily capable of running the required number of apps because they already do - it's just a pretty poor selection of it.

We don't need new hardware for WatchOS5 to add new faces. There's no new functionality being asked for - just more skin options.

Thanks for the great explanation.
You put every single aspect very briefly and sincerely.
All these things are not going to be noticed unless someone briefs it.
Helpful thread.

I think maybe you thought I was talking about any new faces, but I was specifically talking about new faces that take advantage of the larger screen by including more complications:

They may add a new face to existing models, but it's not going to include any more complications than existing faces do, for the reasons I mentioned. (some people seem to be hoping that existing watches are going to get fancy new 8+ complication faces that Series 4 will have, which is an unrealistic wish)

An on topic post, decided to jump onto the latest beta and it’s actually better than the latest OS 4 version. Battery life seems to be the same, give or take. AWS2

Can’t find it anywhere, but can you ask Siri on the watch to play music on your airplay 2 speaker, HomePod or Apple TV?

I think if the music is initiated on iPhone then you most likely can do. The question is what if the music is played on the watch..?

Does anyone have advice on how to get haptic notifications working on WatchOS 5 and mail? I have tried everything including a complete reset of the watch, as well as deleting and re-adding my mail accounts on my phone. The notifications show up, but no haptic feedback.

Hi, guys.
Stupid question: can someone send me a working link for a working watchOS beta profile to install GM? I'm not a registered developer.
Would be grateful!

Can anyone who is using the watch for sporty stuff tell me if os5 has improved results for gps tracking for runs or in the pool lap counting/ stroke recognition etc?
I mainly use mine for sports and was considering the 4 but software improvements might convince me to stick with the 3 (it’s a great watch anyway!)

Is auto brightness not working for anybody on GM? My screen is super bright on S3 GPS, brightness slider does not work

Never mind to my own post. There was a bug from having an alarm set on my watch, while it updated. Got stuck in full brightness. Had to set another alarm to resolve

On my S3.

4 new watch faces that suck!

It’s kind of perplex me why in this day and age Apple still think having a watch face with no complications is a good thing. They clearly can see from the reaction of the S4 face that people love it and it has what .. 9 complications. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to compute which should be the way to go forward.

Sure they know, Apple knows people will upgrade to an S4 for the watch faces and other features.
