It's about time but I don't sleep with my Apple Watch Ultra strapped onto my wrist.

How do people go to sleep with their Apple Watch on? I need mine to be charged every night.
I fully charge my ultra once every 2 days in the evening after I’ve closed my rings and before I go to bed.

Before the ultra I had to do it every evening.

I don't even notice it on my wrist.

How active are you that you need to charge it every night over night 😲

I find that charging it 20-30 minutes a day, usually when I shower, it more than enough for a 24 hour period.

Now if they can fix the same for the iPad: putting my reading glasses on the display silences the alarm.

With an Ultra?? I don't need to charge it daily, and I use it for min. 1-hour workout, walks, and everything else.
You could just take it off during dinner or lunch and it'll charge to 90%+ in a matter of 20–30 min.
Yep and same!

I wear it 23 1/2 hours a day and battery life has never been an issue. Sometimes I'll get 2+ hours of workouts in in a day if I happen to lift and bike/run in the same day.

This means if the palm of your hand happens to cover your Apple Watch's display for three seconds while sleeping, the alarm will no longer be silenced unintentionally.
Are you MacRumurs guy serious?
In sleep mode, the watch is locked down; you can't interact with it other than displaying time in dim red. There is no way covering its face for a few seconds should silence wake alarm while

Now let's go to the fundamental design flaw: the 'Stop' button should be a slider so we won't unintentionally stop the alarm.

My AWU lasts all day and night. I charge it for 30 minutes when I’m in the shower and getting ready for bed. So long as I shower every day, it never dips below 30%.

Ultra is too big and protrudes too much from most wrists to not be noticeable or even a nuisance when sleeping, changing clothes, or really any activity where your arm might move around a lot.

I tried it and switched to regular 41mm AW.

41mm is small and light enough to where you can forget that you're even wearing it.

I'll even reach for it when it's on the charger. But that's obviously a good thing.

Maybe you can get an SE 2022 or cheap Series 4, 5 or 6 for sleeping? Most of the older ones should be equally as accurate for sleep tracking as the newer ones, I think.

Finally! I’m hoping this is the issue I’m having. I sleep on my stomach, usually with my arm against the bed. Very rarely do I wake up with this alarm.

I just charge mine up during the day. Usually in the morning while I'm getting ready for the day. Worse case I charge a bit before I go to bed.

Still rocking a series 3 and I can usually get through the day and night after a full morning charge.

Now release a fix that stops my watch from turning the screen to FULL BRIGHTNESS for sixty seconds when I first put it on in the morning.

I put my Ultra on the charger about an hour before I plan to go to bed. That tops it off at 100% and I’m good for the next day.

Interesting,

Have had Apple watches since Series 0 and have never encountered this. Does it light up the watch face or somehow switch to flashlight mode on you?

Is it coming out of nightstand mode when it does this?

When I wear mine to sleep, as soon as I get up from bed I’ll place the watch on the charger. In the time it takes me to shower and get ready is usually enough time to top off the battery to 100% every morning. It’s a decent trade off to be able to track sleep.

Can Apple please allow the option to turn of the “looks like you’re awake message”

I usually wake up before my alarm even just rolling over it triggers it. It’s always delayed enough to be annoying. I’ve accidentally turned my alarm off a few times.

Some deaf people rely on Apple Watch to wake them up every morning. Unless there is an emergency, like someone breaking into the house, the house alarm via watch will alert them. There are a couple of benefits for the Apple Watch over the bed shaker—unlimited alarm modes, on-the-go, communication, etc.

How about a fix for accidentally changing the volume (usually to MAX or min) when listening to music or a podcast in bed? This happens to me all the time when the crown accidentally brushes against something.

I'd also like a watch face (or ideally, multiple ones) which displays timers prominently, but only when a timer is active. I can have a tiny complication displaying a timer, but it's always wasting space when not in use and the font is too small. iOS can do this, why not watchOS?
