I think the Ocean / Wave pic could resemble OX X Wave, or OS X The Next Wave. It would not be called Ocean, it may be animal related, but I think Apple should dump these "animal" names, and just stick to the Version number. As for the font on the poster, this is the same font used in the WWDC application and logo.

I really love this design. I am not a designer but I work in the business and with designers for
over 2 decades so I've developed an eye for things. I am also in love with Helvetica Nueue.
Even the "non-designer" in me knew it was Helvetica Neue the first time I saw it.

What I like about it is that it reminds me a lot of Peter Saville's work. He is the iconic English Art Director that is reponsible for Joy Division and New Order album covers. This is what this reminds me of. If you don't know who Saville is, Google his work. It looks like the later New Order simple covers when they switched over to a san-serif type. I even notice the colored WWDC logo look like Saville's latest work on OMD's album cover, English Electric.

And the comments I've read about how similar to Android's Roboto font or Windows Arial, those posters, forgive me, but have you eyes checked. Seriously. I'm no way a designer and I can tell you it is Helvetica Nueue. If you used Macintosh for several years, you would know this. Helvetica Nueue pops up once in a while.

And I don't people are over-analyzing this. The typeface is that good looking. I would love to see this as the system wide type along with Adobe's new Source Code Pro as the monospace font.

So the IOS 7 Banner goes up on Friday the 7th and the X banner will be hovering over participants on June 10th. See the pattern? It may be a merging of IOS 7 and OS X. IOS X

Clearly, it's water for hydrogen and oxygen. They're obviously going with elements now.

Mac OS X Hydrogen
Mac OS X Helium
...
Mac OS X Copper
...
Mac OS X Unununium

Mac OS X Carbon will be confusing, though. :p

http://thedreamwell.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/dream-symbols-tidal-wave/

food for thought...

"Tidal waves often appear in our dreams when we are under a lot of pressure or when significant change is occurring."

What? That never happens to me.

It will be. We're on yearly release cycles. IIRC Mountain Lion was announced at WWDC and was on the App Store a couple of hours later.

Not even close. WWDC was June 11th. Mountain Lion was released July 25th.

And everyone saying Tsunami or Tidal Wave... Those names have wwwaaaayyy too much of a negative connotation.
