@rampancy thanks for sharing, but i think this browser is now only for MacOS 10.15 onwards; maybeolder old builds function, but then there is already firefox 115 esr for those running Sierra /although it is quite consuming.

Please be gentle when you reply as I am clearly missing something obvious, but why are there so many different "legacy support" browsers that all seem to be developed by the same few persons?

Confusing as to whether one should go with Browser A from Persons 1 & 2 or Browser B, C, D, or E from the same persons.

Presumably too much of a task, tech hurdles etc, to combine the effort into one that rules them all. Right?

>Dooble

From what i understand it uses Qt's WebEngine? I don't understand how it can support os/2 if it relies on Qt. And this wouldn't work on anything where Qt5 is unsupported

ohh yeah snow lion yeah
this website an other work perfectly on that browser,
I did not try u-tube or espn since I was not interested in videos last night,
the other browsers like Firefox legacy and pale moon displayed large social media icons instead of the usual tiny size.

one addition, for the record, since at one time could have been my favorite.

this one was fast browser.
works with 10.4 - 10.6, maybe also later.

The last update in 2013. That's 11 years ago.

Dooble looks good, but there don't seem to be any available OS X binaries.
Would you be able to buy him for the leopard and others? I saw that it has a DMG for download from Github, all via trying to open it presents that it is not possible to extract it.

im using a custom firefox that looks like zen and im very happy

My daily-use legacy MacOSX SnowLeopard system has 4 processor cores, and 8 GB of RAM. It also runs a suitable version of Parallels, and via Parallels, Windows XP. I give Parallels 2GB of RAM and 2 processors. This covers all the legacy software I care to run at present, and can manage older MacOS, MacOS PPC, and Windows XP era code.

There is a browser based on Chromium for WindowsXP called Supermium, and I find it is just fantastic.

You can set Supermium to be the default browser used by MacOSX when you click a hyperlink, so usage is nearly transparent. You do need to pay attention to the directory where you are downloading files.

Although I hope for a good browser that runs directly on SnowLeopard to come along one day and replace the Intel version of TenFourFox that I produced with Cameron and Riccardo, for now, Supermium is taking care of all my browser needs extremely well.

If you have a similar setup, I'd say it is worth a try. Here's the link:

that makes me upset... Windows XP can have better access to browsing, better than Snow Leopard

There have been numerous browsers for 10.6 that are based on newer code bases than the old archaic tenfourfox/tensixfox browsers. They are listed in the first post of this thread. Currently the most modern browser for 10.6 is found here: https://interweb.jazzzny.me/

I just saw the interweb.jazzny.me browser yesterday when I posted about my successes with Supermium under Parallels.

I see it works by linking in the legacysupport library that I originally developed in 2016 and then worked on for some years for MacPorts, until I cut that loose... which is neat to see.

I'll give it a try.

Thank you so much for your work on legacysupport by the way, it is invaluable for porting a significant amount of software.
