I thought I did.

No, that tells me nothing about why the "AppStore is a money printing machine".

In fact, it has been shown many times to not be a money printing machine, but for a few lucky developpers or the big names that already have a license to print money (EA, Ubisoft, Gameloft...).

It's also not a money printing machine for Apple, representing less than 10% of their profits/revenues when combined with the Music store/Film store/TV store.

Well in my opinion iTunes is the easiest and more efficient way to advertise, sell and distribute your apps. If you are not with any big software house you may find your way on sell and distribute your product in harder way.

You can call those few lucky, reality also is that is not easy to make the right app/game that is going to sell millions. For example doodle jump is one of the most stupid game ever and have been download for 3.5 millions time(if I remember right) and it sold for £0.59(even though the dev gets 70% those are money).

Tell me how that could have been possible without any kind of App Store.

Apple setted up a market is up to the developers get advantage of it.

How much is that 10% anyway?

Keep speaking about "facts" that exists only in your biased immagination ...
AppStore is working well for developer and Apple
