Here we are on Monday evening and still not a single official word from Apple about it. Yes, that's a sign of a big problem.
Factoring in that Apple doesn't usually release public statements on things, it's not really a sign of anything one way or another, aside from what someone might want to read into it (which doesn't make it anything aside from what that individual might think about it). We know they are aware of it and are working on it. The important thing will be the actual resolution, not a PR statement that they know about it (which we already know about).

So true. This what is so pathetic.

What exactly are you defending? We agree that Apple has made a monumental mistake, yeah?
Why do you think I'm defending something? I'm discussing the details of what was brought up. If the details don't really matter and it's basically just that "Apple messed up", sure, they did, but then why bring up the details if they don't really matter?

Maybe I'm the only one who's getting that impression.

Where's that official PR statement from Apple's comms department? All we have are cut/pastes from Chat Sessions.

Of course Apple releases public statements on things.

I don't think the argument is that this breaks with Apple's usual practice. The criticism is that in such circumstances Apple tends to deny or remain silent. Not much has changed. That's a problem.

What official statement? The one that I commented about Apple usually not releasing?

Don't think any denying has been going on, and as far as remaining silent in an official PR capacity that's not new. While an official statement would be nice, an actual cause being identified and a resolution being implemented is that much more important (and we know that they know about it and are working on it).

Spoiler iOS 9.4 will happen take 20 betas and still have something wrong lol :p
Welcome to the reality of the software world that has been in place for a long time.

So if it's the Shared Credentials that is causing the issue shouldn't turning off and deleting keychain resolve the issue? What about resetting all settings under settings>general>reset

What bothers me is that Apple seems to still behave like a boutique computer manufacturer than the dominant force in mobile devices, software and services that they are. It always feels like far too few resources are being devoted to things.

Even the largest of companies have outages and issues.

No it's not new. It's the same as always. And that's no good.
We're going round in circles here.
The fact that Apple usually tends to manage stuff-ups as poorly as it is managing this one, is not redeeming at all.

I gotta say, I can't remember a Microsoft error that rendered devices useless. Has Microsoft ever had anything like this? What about Samsung?
Apple has one of these with every single update.

There's nothing to indicate that they are handling this poorly or anything like that at this point.

As for updates, there were some updates with bigger issues that Android has had and surely some Windows ones. Just as there were some OS X and and all kids of other software.

iOS has had some certainly, but it's nowhere close to even majority of updates, let alone "every single update".

surely some Windows ones.

Not exactly what I was after.

In more positive news... I have Erased Contents and Settings on my iPad mini 3 and restored from a iOS 9.2.1 backup and links seem to be working fine. Also made sure I deleted Booking.com.ipa before restoring.

Try it.

Let's hope it stays working for you. And hopefully Apple will deal with the underlying issue soon as well.

I swear news like this all over is just click-bait as usual. Gotta get that ad revenue somehow, right? ;) And, 700+ comments? Jeez louise. Now, I'm not defending the issues with the update, and bringing down the people experiencing problems. But, in the grand scheme of things, I believe the problem isn't as widespread as people are saying. Thankfully, I haven't experienced any of these issues. *knock on wood* But, its good Apple has fixed, and helping out the people having these problems.

I'm sorry you are having issues. And, I do not read twitter, or apple community forums unless I need to find some troubleshooting tips. :)

Also apple hasn't fixed any of the broken links issues

So who is to say that it's not that widespread or significant enough to be worthy of news articles and discussion then?
