I didn't know there was a name for it until another of these sorts of threads appeared a while back but google trypophobia and see if the photos make any of you uneasy. It makes my skin crawl.

Doesn't make sense to me. They aren't just holes. They are pictures of people full of holes or peeling their skin off etc... who wouldn't be a bit disturbed by that?

Are these people freaked out of stuff coming out of holes through their skin? I would be too. Or are they scared of holes as in a piece of cardboard paper with holes punched out of it or if I got a stick and poked holes in the dirt?

Being in the middle of the ocean freaks me out. The ocean at night even being on the beach freaks me out sometimes too. We have no idea what the heck is out there.

Not really a phobia, but one thing that *really* creeps me out is mould on food. I get worried when things are out of data, just incase I'll end up accidentally eating mould. Just thinking about it makes me want to throw up. Creeps me the eff out >.<

My phobias pretty much consist of anything reptilian: lizards, snakes, etc and amphibians such as frogs.

I pretty fear any lower animal life form that crawls or jumps.

This is not an uncommon or weird phobia, but I cannot stand the sight of snakes.

But I am fine with just about every other thing. :)

A friend of mine is so terrified of snakes that she can't even look at a picture of one......she even cringes a little if you say the word "snake".

I say it as often as possible when she's around.:D

"Hey, wanna see my trouser-snake?"

I have mild koumpounophobia (fear of buttons). I didn't even know that there was such a thing until I once saw a TV ad for "irrational phobias". I can't explain that one, maybe I choked on one as a baby or something

...

Well those are particularly awful photos but even just looking at a lotus pod creeps me out. It's not everything with clusters of holes though so I must not be THAT badly afflicted. It just depends on how the clusters of holes are formed. Holes in the dirt or cardboard wouldn't be likely to make me squirm.

I think I actually became creeped out by this BECAUSE of a disgusting photo like the ones you mentioned. Someone on another forum posted a (photoshopped) picture of a boob with holes and worms coming out. It seriously freaked me out and I googled to make sure it wasn't real. It wasn't - it was a lotus pod photoshopped beneath her skin. The result though is that ever since the sight of stuff like that makes me feel grossed out and itchy until I start thinking of kittens and puppies.

There are things I'm scared of, like heights and big crowds. However, there are also the things that absolutely frighten me to the core - legitimate phobias.

Caves
Spiders
The dark
Wide, open spaces (think huge empty parking lots or fields)

I still have nightlights in my house and flashlights where I can easily find them. Spiders make me hyperventilate.

You're fortunate. Some phobias create crippling limitations for the sufferers.

Well, I found one possible phobia. I guess you could say I have a snot phobia. When I see somebody blow their nose when I'm eating, (like in a restaurant) I lose my appetite. How many of you have this issue?

Okay, this is going to sound weird, but hear me out. I have some common phobias -heights, open water etc.

I do have two weird ones, though:
I have a very distinct fear of saying the wrong name during sex. I love my girlfriend and I would never cheat on her or anything, but I am so afraid of this I don't say anything when we do it.

Another is that I have a huge fear of people hearing me poop. I don't have unusual poops or anything, but I think it's hugely awkward if they can hear me. So when I'm in the bathroom I run the faucet or make some sort of commotion while I'm doing my business. I also routinely put some toilet paper in the water so it will "catch" my droppings and not make a splash.... Sometimes I will hold it until all my housemates have left and then go on my own. My go to strategy is going to shower and running the shower and fan while I poop and then shower afterwards, so everyone just thinks I took a shower.

I know, I know, wtf.

...I think you win.

I thought I was the only one!!!

Anyone have any? Or normal things that just creep you out?

My only phobia is of needles... tomorrow I am getting two vaccines and I cannot get any sleep because of them. I am super nervous for tomorrow even though my concious self knows how stupid I am being.

Needles freak me out too. I don't lose sleep over it, but I have to concentrate really hard on anything else when having blood drawn etc.

A doctor once offered to cure me of this phobia by teaching me to give myself shots. I told him that he was crazy and no thanks, but I've regretted it since. He was so sure it would cure me... :(

I am uneasy at open heights. But just initially. I get this feeling like I might just lose it and jump over. At a 480' dam last week and the first minute or so I could hardly stand to be at the edge.

I'm the same way, except it doesn't go away after a minute. I also freeze up completely when I have to go more than 1 meter up a ladder, or even when I have to get up on a chair and reach my arms up (like to change a light bulb). It's really inconvenient. I tell myself each time that it's mind over matter and that THIS time I'll mange, but I'm wrong every time. :p

Frogs. It's only when I have to walk past one and I'm worried it'll jump and I'll end up stepping on it. Weird, right?

I knew someone who couldn't even look at a drawing of a frog. She got completely grossed out and had to walk away.
