im scared of street rats but yet im fine with fluffy rats from the pet store, is that weird??
Nothing weird about that. I'm guessing your phobia is based on hygiene. Those rats in the pet stores are mostly clean. Street rats...who knows what sewer they crawled out of. Amirite?:D

I have a phobia of phone calls. I get a sinking feeling of dread every time I have to answer a phone call or making a phone call. I only answer phone calls from the Missus, because I fear her anger much, much more than answering the phone.:p

I get scared every time the operating system or a software package asks me to reboot to finish installing an update. More often than not, the update breaks something and causes hours of unnecessary frustration. Sometimes an application starts crashing, or a feature has been moved or removed, or the OS stops working. Apple became one of the worst offenders when it started pushing OS X updates annually, which would cause some software packages to stop working properly or cause the whole computer to fail. If it isn't broken, stop trying to fix it! Then the software developers drop support for the older OS X versions because Apple keeps changing how the OS works with the software, necessitating an OS X update which breaks more stuff. Because of this, I get shivers and dizziness as the computer is rebooting, hoping that a delay or a strange message or color flashed on the screen isn't a problem, and I'm so relieved when the OS has logged me in and my software appears to be working again. I have software-update phobias!

What? A macOS update (a major yearly one) clearly labeled as such, you have to actively go to install it.

Don’t have any phobias today, really. Little phobic and frightened as child.
But strong dislikes today, yep, for sure.
Rats are no fun. Our house had a kind of partly rubber roof when I was a kid. It happened that they were eating on it and I was a little uncomfortable that they would bite up wholes and jump down on me when I was sleeping.
As times went by, dad fixed it with putting up traps on strategical places plus some poison, so they totally disappeared. But I can recall the feeling when I saw that they had eaten up a little whole on the roof in my room. Scary

I was stung of bumblebees when I was a kid too, was horrible, had to go to doctor.
Then I had bees building a beehive under a couch that was very close to a balcony at my place.

When a friend was visiting we started to wonder why so many bees suddenly appeared.
We hunted them like warriors, mostly me, she was more afraid. I was also afraid, but mostly angry on the little bastards. I was stunned how they’ve could’ve build a hive under my coach. Hadn’t noticed.
But I usually had the balcony door open at summers, so they had passage.
But we got it out, with som minor stings. Not so bad as when I was a kid though.
I used my vacuum cleaner to collect them. Worked great :D

Bugs and insects, most if them is pestering.
But not butterflies, I like them and have a good relation with them. Even consider them as friends coming with symbolic meaning for me. So not as @decafjava re butterflies.

Drinking from soapy cups or mugs. I always rinse a cup before I drink out it. People think it's strange, but as a kid I drank some pretty soapy water once and felt horrible. Ruined for life.

I'm don't like escalators. I don't have a problem using them if I have no choice, but I'm not fond of them.

Same here. I got stuck on a mall escalator once with a total stranger for two hours. We shouted, “Halp, we’re stuck on an escalator!” We survived on her Lyndt chocolates and pretzel pieces until the fire department and maintenance crew got it running again.

Why didn’t you just walk off?

I have a fear of heights. Just looking at pictures or movies with them gets my palms sweaty and my heart racing.

Anyone have any? Or normal things that just creep you out?

My only phobia is of needles... tomorrow I am getting two vaccines and I cannot get any sleep because of them. I am super nervous for tomorrow even though my concious self knows how stupid I am being.

I had a friend who was terrified of birds (all kinds). It stems back to some childhood trauma. She wouldn't even be able to go up to taxidermy birds because they were too frightening. When we ate lunch outside and pigeons started getting close to our table she would jump up and run away from them.

Scared of birds? Whatever for?
