Which model?
Yes, but to my surprise people really prefer refresh rate over pixel density (1440p at 32 inch...), colour accuracy and brightness (HDR400......?). Probably the computer monitor is too small so that only the either end is present i.e. gamers and video/graphics professionals, and thus the parity in quality and price.I agree it's not a good deal, but it's the best option for those who appreciate what it offers (as there is literally nothing else on the market like it). Not recommended for anyone on a tight budget, that's for sure.
for sure. I game very lightly, otherwise I run my business on it.Yes, but to my surprise people really prefer refresh rate over pixel density (1440p at 32 inch...), colour accuracy and brightness (HDR400......?). Exactly. Every once in a while Apple does make a product, like the late 2020 M1 MacBook Air that is both luxury tech and an insanely good value (being faster than PCs twice as expensive), but that’s the exception vs the norm.Apple is not a VFM company. Its a luxury tech company. Some people like it, some people don't. But that's the way it is. MB looks things up from a VFM perspective because his viewers expect him to. It doesn't mean this monitor is a bad deal.
Just helping him out is all. He did make a thread trying to personally justify his purchase when he should just be admiring it himself. He could have gotten a better monitor for his money. The shade in this thread! Just let him enjoy his monitor. I know I will when I get mine next week.?
Haha you are helping no one. I provided this thread to help others on the fence. I have 45 days to return, no regrets so far, i think these insights are valuable to the community. I get the sense you are justifying how you can’t afford it with posts like this, but maybe I’m wrong? ;-)Just helping him out is all. Nilay Patel at the Verge frequently mocks Apple products and still gets review units. So does Joanna Stern at the WSJ.For an influencer (widely known) to knock this product speaks volumes since most kiss apples a$$ on every product to be on their good side.

I’m just surprised by how much I like it.
Perhaps he has credibility because he isn’t a shill. As for other “influencers” Justine Ezarik doesn’t pretend to be objective and has admitted iJustine is mostly a character to promote her business. She’s just as “excited” for some random OnePlus phone as a Mac Studio. But total shills like Gruber and Rene Ritchie pretend to be journalists."The Verge" and "WSJ" are important pieces of information there.
The calculus is different for independent vloggers
Totally see that view!I'm not surprised!
True retina 2x is awesome..
I personally wish they'd made a straight up "monitor" (optionally) and not done a webcam or speakers (like the XDR, but smaller). If one wants to do multiple monitors with these, it's a tremendous waste of multiple cameras and speakers, etc.

I also think they should be including the adjustable height stand by default and offering the "fixed" one if you want it -- especially at this MSRP.
Except most people will just buy one ASD.Totally see that view!
The problem is 6-12 months from now there won't be much left to appreciate other than the shiny wrapper. Mini-led monitors are about the flood the market and with samsung back in the game with qd-oled TV's and monitors it's almost a guarantee they will have a 4k qd-led out by the end of the year, both of which will absolutely curb stomp the ASD in image quality.I agree it's not a good deal, but it's the best option for those who appreciate what it offers (as there is literally nothing else on the market like it). I know! I wish the story was 6k mini-led on 32” for $2-3k… I’d buy that instantly. 4k is such low ppi for us spoiled Mac usersThe problem is 6-12 months from now there won't be much left to appreciate other than the shiny wrapper. It’s still a 4K display. Not Retina resolution on a Mac.The problem is 6-12 months from now there won't be much left to appreciate other than the shiny wrapper.
