While I love the look of my 13Pro without a case, I'm too OCD to go caseless. Realistically, I know that about twice a year, on average, I am going to drop this onto a concrete floor or sidewalk. So far I'm on schedule, with one drop this year. My Apple and Magsafe leather cases have taken a scuff or two, but the phone has come out scratchless.

Maybe don’t act like the police and they’ll tell you 🤣
Well I was able to interrogate a few and got answers such as throwing the phone down the stairs to cause enough damage to warrant a replacement and another telling me to throw the phone against a wall or concrete slab for the same effect. This is one such reason why I don’t pay for AC+… I’d just be enabling these people & paying higher premiums for the privilege to cover THEIR new phones.

Well AC+ with theft and loss protection for a 14 Pro costs almost as much per year as it does to fully comprehensively insure my vehicle on the road for a year.

All that to protect a $1.2k phone, haha. I can assure you the real price, if people were honest with their claims, would be around half the current cost.

I am an honest person so I want no part in paying for other people’s fraudulent claims just to they can sell their “unused insurance replacement” phones on eBay for $800+ when they are due an upgrade.

For those of you with either a silver or space black pro or pro max I can recommend the new Nomad Super Slim case! It’s amazingly slim and the white frosted almost makes my silver pro max look naked. I am sure the black one would do the same with the space black!3?

What IS that horrid extra screen on your phone? 😱 is that… is that a SCREEN PROTECTOR?

Disgusting. 🧐
Wait... you can tell there is a SCREEN PROTECTOR??? Even as it is on the edge of death?? And still no AppleCare+??

Where did I go wrong... 😔

LOLOL 162,824 emails! 😂 Needless to say, "The mobile subscriber you have reached has a voicemail box that is full." 😋
When I signed up for Gmail ages ago, they told me I never have to delete a single email ever again. Sure 😏

I keep it at 97% -ish, but it's a pain spending valuable time out of my day deleting stuffs...

At first I thought your phone was bent from going caseless, but the screen protector must have protected it… and it is actually leaning over the edge! 😱

What magic is this?! TAPE??! STRINGS????!!!!!!!!!

(This photo reminds me of those trolling
Trypophobia photos with a bunch of holes just to make people squeamish. Haha)

No strings attached, my friend. Or tape. Or magic. The camera system is so heavy, the bulk of the weight distribution protects the phone from falling off edges. It's my AppleCare alternative

People on this forum rave about AC+ and how it’s a must have. I see it as a very expensive additional insurance policy for a single item. You’re right, my annual car insurance policy isn’t much more in cost too and my car was £25k! My home insurance is only a £100 more than AC+ for a £350k house and it’s contents. Most people already have insurance that covers iPhones and seem to like paying a premium on top because they like the convenience of Apple. There is still an excess charge on top when claiming which further boggles the mind. Buy a decent case and save yourself some money is my advice.

Insurance policy’s have an excess too, the smaller the policy price the bigger the excess. Claims increase the policy cost too.

We are saying that AC+ is disproportionately expensive given that iPhones are built very robustly and are unlikely to break. I have an iPhone 12 Mini that I have dropped countless times on concrete pavements and hardwood floors and it does not even have a single scratch. I’ve posted pictures of it here and it is literally indistinguishable from a new phone. I just use an Apple silicone case and a Spigen tempered glass screen protector which provides minimal protection. Because cases have raised sides it is almost impossible to crack the screen. The only situation where that is possible is if you drop it from an extreme height or onto an uneven hard surface. The chances of that happening are so minimal I see no reason to drop a ridiculous sum of cash on AC+. I can say the same about my previous phones, my iPhone 6S and 8 which again, look brand new despite being dropped countless times. I just don’t understand how some people can be so careless that they require AC+. Absolutely baffling.

Today two falls from my pocket of my 12 mini naked, both from bed/couch to floor (porcelain stoneware): small chips on the aluminium frame and no damage at all at both glasses.

Just for saying that this thing are really sturdy!!

guess you've never had teenagers lol

That’s why they either get older phones or a cheap-ass Alcatel, which are not covered by AC+, or they have Otterbox style cases. If it’s a teenager who is 18+, I suppose it’s their money and they can do whatever they want. If they break it, they pay for the repair/replacement.

Scratches are the only reason why you would need a new iPhone. Apple: not gonna cover that ^^
