well im almost 17 and i have never had a drink, had a few "tastes" here and there but i quite dislike the taste of alcohol. most of my friends started in grade 8, so about 14yrs old. but this new generation is getting crazy. i hear kids in grade 7 are getting drunk almost every-week end. and the kids my age, in grade 12, are getting drunk friday and Saturday for sure and some even get drunk on school nights. I find it quite sad myself.
Agreed
Even though I admitted to drinking at 16 I never did it to get drunk like most kids these days. I did it because I live somewhere where there isn't much else to do besides party. I've never gotten drunk and most kids who drink to get drunk are dumb. Brendan, what's the drinking age in Canada?
ahh, Jesus. long time no talk.
ya up here its ridiculous. when im at school monday to Wednesday all kids talk about was how drunk they GOT on the weekend. Thursday and friday all they talk about it how drunk there GOING to get. its horrible, they only drink to get drunk. honestly, i have never been to a "high school party". i just stay home and do...... nothing. but now im really into photography so i will have something to do
well in Alberta its 18, and some other provinces are 19, but most are 18.
Haha, yeah it's nice to hear from you too
(we'll have to talk more on facebook or something)
You pretty much described the whole situation where I live too. I never really started to go to "high school" parties until late junior year since most of my friends were seniors and they partied a lot. It's weird to see your friends in drunken states.
I stay home a lot tooI like having time to myself and I find it quite relaxing.
yes, we shall do that.
ya, im on 1 of my computers at all times during the day. reading gizmodo, engadget, consurmest, digg, macrumors or Photography on the net forums. but i do hang out with friends when ever i can. i just wish people did things that excluded drinking.
but i just recently discovered last.fm and have started t listen to ALOT more music. so i keep busy, i guess. but somehow i still never find time to do my homework haha
Haha, I know what you mean by that last sentence.
Right now I am in the process of completing my "summer assignment" which is due the first day of classes tomorrow. Fun.
I'm going to be wayyyy to busy for my liking the first few months of school. I have a full schedule and I also got my school to county my internship with the Obama campaign as an elective credit.
haha that sounds like me. but i am really hoping to change my "homework schedule". i was able to get 2 "spares", like a free class, and hopefully i will get 1 each semester. and i really want to do homework in that time instead of wasting time.
wow, you really into the whole obama thing arnt you.
so what are you doing with the obama campaign?
woa, that sounds pretty sweet. politics in canada is nothing compared the states, from what i've read anyways.Haha, well I am in charge of coordinating events with my high school (I am President of the Young Democrats this year) and I also do phone banking, canvassing, and other fun organizing stuff. I've met Mr. Obama a number of times and I have even had the chance of meeting him at the airport.
Fun stuff.

I still drink quite regularly, but only a few beers now, because it's accompanied by weed.
it's cheaper, easier to get (at least here in Oregon) and there's no hangover. It's really God's magic plant.
