I've seen enough spoof horror or science fiction films to know to stay away from them (Killer Klowns, Mars Attacks! etc)

But probably the worst movie I've seen was Battlefield Earth. I'm a sucker for SF (even, in the past, spoof SF) and I thought it couldn't possibly be as bad as reviewers said. It was worse.

Even worse than In the Realm of the Senses, which is saying something. Incidentally, In the Realm of the Senses was shown in a local art house movie theater at the same time as In Bed with Madonna. I wished I'd chosen to watch the Madonna movie instead, which shows how bad it was.

I also refuse to watch anything with Adam Sandler - he can act but it's a crap shoot whether any particular movie is watchable. Also, any movie with Sandler and Rob Schneider together is unwatchable.
But Wait! Theres worst! Much Worst: Pauly Shore!!!!!!!!! He MUST have powerful (yet stupid) family in Hollywood! I've NEVER understood how anything with him in it could get made....tax purposes???

One of my favorites! Read the book first though......long, long ago.

Why would I want to read a book so I can watch a movie? I am willing to read an explanation from you how is that movie entertaining or good in any form.

i've only walked out of one movie in my entire life, and to give you an idea of how bad it was, i feel asleep (and "no" i wasn't tired!) with my hand in the popcorn. "the english patient." and surprisingly it was nominated for 12 oscars, won 9, best picture, best actor and best supporting actress among others.

I am glad I read this it was on my to watchlist

Mandatory video

whats the name of the actor? Is it Ray Wise?

^---- OK. That's a weird connection, but I understand it. John O'Hurley is a weird doppelganger to Ray Wise... Could he be just as creepy portraying Leland Palmer. "Sooner or Later!".....

Well, I can't see O'Hurley as Leland for the simple reason that I now identify him with Mr. Peterman. the same way I identify Ray Wise as Leland.
However I do agree that O'Hurley is a very good actor and could've played the role very well indeed.

Most movies are from books, some of which are very hard if not impossible to condense into ~2 hr. and put on the screen. I'll give one very good example: '2001 A Space Odyssey '. The movie is a classic BUT: if you've read the book , which was much better, certain key scenes in the movie make much more sense. 'To Kill A Mockingbird'; 'A Raisin in the Sun''; 'Roots'.... 'Shakespeare:.......' 'Diary of Ann Frank'....The Great Russian Authors....etc. And, 'Dune' (on the other end). Just saying...

Here are some of the worst movies I've ever seen:
(ones I've walked out on in the theather)

Pulp Fiction

Schindler's List
I agree with Pulp Fiction, but Schindlers List won critical acclaim. I have been many films over the years, Schindlers List was the ONLY film I have ever been to where the entire audience stayed seated and silent till the final credits were over. No one got up left.

I gotta admit. I like movies based on Stephen King's books more than his books. I guess his writing style isn't to my liking.

BloodRayne with Michael madsen his dialogue is complete rubbish in this flick and the reason i had to turn the movie off after only about 20-30 minutes

Tears of the Sun

I don’t think another film has kept me in my seat at the end of a showing, cringing in disbelieve at how awful it was.

There is also Tony Sirico. Whats with famous people having a similar double? Kevin Spacey and John Cusak, Samuel Jackson and Laurence Fishburne... there are others.

Oh I am not saying the book is not better than the movie... I am saying the movie itself is bad, maybe its a bad adaptation of the book.

But I will certainly not read a book just to see the movie...

Katy Perry and Zoe Deschanel. I used to have a hard time telling them apart until Katy got that weird hair cut. IMO, Zoe is the better actress and Katy the better singer. That was the only way I could tell the two apart before.😙

I thought Pulp Fiction was pretty good. I agree Schindler’s List was excellent, not sure why anyone would call it the worst other than the subject matter turns them off. Germany’s actions in WWII were horrendous and that movie should make anyone who watches it feel il.

i don't think you can compare Pulp Fiction to Schindler's List. Schindler's List was a great movie, not only because of the subject matter but almost every actor made the movie so believable that you felt as if you were looking through a window as everything unfolded.

Pulp Fiction on the other hand was a damn good movie in the genre it's in. part of understanding the craziness of the movie is in the title, meaning "lurid, seedy characters, portraying violence, crime and sex. the movie has some unforgettable scenes that are classic, "Le Big Mac." and, "i will carry out great vengeance.....................

On Deadly Ground (1994)
Battle Royale (2000)
Boy do I love Battle Royale! What a great movie!!! The book is awesome too!

I think the worst movie I've seen in theaters was either Beowulf (2007) or Alexander (2004). Both were abysmal. I've seen far too many trash movies on Netflix to remember them all.

Worst movie ever. Saw it once ... once too many. It was so bad I refused to see the remake.

3 Worst movies, order doesn't matter....
