If you look at the speeds of some of the flash mem used in the Mac's, they are as fast, and often faster, than even the current SandForce drives.
 
In raw benchmarks, SF based drives are still way faster. Like Anand said, Apple has tweaked the FW somehow to manage such a great results

The bechmarks posted on this forum show that the factory Apple SSD can run in SandForce territory. Obviously, that means little for real world performance as the SF powered OCZ and OWC are substantially faster in real-world performance IMO, likely due to its read/write speeds being able to run substantially higher in regards to sustained speeds.
