Im just crossing my fingers for "one more thing"

Hopefully I'll still be able to get a free touch though

Haha, you must REALLY be wanting these MBP's to be updated on Tuesday!
I cannot express how much I am ready for these new machines since having to go back to 'ol faithful because of returning my intel Macs due to hardware issues

Alright everyone...I sent an email to that store:

And I got back an answer just now. All it said was "Yes, you should wait."

THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! NEW MBP'S ON TUESDAY!!!!

Woo! Excited! Ive been waiting since may... hopefully this is reliable info.

You and me both, dude. I think its reliable because this website I contacted IS a store. Why wouldnt they want me to buy a computer right now? Because they do not want to deal with returns and all that crap. I cannot wait until Tuesday now!

Wooot! (what is "woot"?:D) lol

I bet that sites wondering what's going on with all the hits it must be getting now ........or .......maybe this is another Apple marketing tactic ;) .Those guys at :apple: know how to work up an interest in their products !!

A friend of mine who happens to be the manager of an apple store told me that 9th is the day, though I do not know if he says that based on rumors or if he knows it for a fact. Would he know?

The manager of an Apple Store should know.

He'd know about what stock is on the way same as any other retail manager , thing is with Apple they sign a contract & he'd lose his job for saying anything !.

The manager of an Apple Store should know.

They might be better informed, but they won't know the real date for sure. They're still basically nobodies in terms of the Apple hierarchy, as are employees. Only a very few people know for sure.

Probably best not to board the hype train!

If a dealer in NZ runs out of stock and won't be getting any until new MacBook Pros are released, then that's perhaps a normal occurrence during major product transitions. That's why Apple warned dealers to stack up on inventory. Yet I can imagine that smaller dealers won't be pre-ordering many (if any), for the fear of not being able to sell them before the new ones arrive. As a result these dealers are even more likely to run out of stock sooner.

Also Apple didn't really give an exact date when to expect new notebooks. Could be 4-6 weeks after July 30th. But could also be longer in case more inventory is in the channel than anticipated.

We all know and indicators point to the fact that we will see new MacBook Pros within 4-8 weeks from today. But whether it's going to be September 9th or end of October - we don't really know. And perhaps even Steve Jobs might not know for sure yet. Too many times 'one more thing' items got cancelled last minute just before the Jobs keynote/presentation. So even if it is absolutely true and even Steve Jobs would confirm that as of today new MBPs will be introduced on September 9th, this might still get scrapped at some point between today and September 9th. Who knows? So don't board the hype train!

It was 4-6 weeks from the beginning of August, (Buy enough stock for 4-6 weeks of no shipments), so that would be around the middle of September.

Would be wonderful if that logic reflects reality. Why would Apple tell dealers to stock up for 4-6 weeks if they knew it'd be two months? Then again, things may have changed since then--too many people diverted from computers to work on the iPod 'event'? Just hoping revised MB and MBP launched simultaneously so we don't have to wait even MORE to do some comparison shopping.

C'mon Uncle Steve, at least give the kids a hint on the 9th!

I can't see it taking until Jan....and miss the whole Xmas shopping thing....but we have heard August...September...October...and *gasp* Juanuary!!!

I'm thinking late Sept but you never know....it is possible this whole nVidia thing has delayed the entire MBP line....since the MBs don't use them its possible they could come out first....if indeed Apple is going to "switch" themselves. Then again, what will everyone do if the NEW laptops come w/ nVidia 86xx GPU's again?!?
