So deserving of it's constant praise as "The best show on TV" (I mean, I would argue for The Sopranos, or Deadwood as better, but you get the gist ...). I know S5 isn't anyone's favorite, but I also prefer the S1-S3, Stringer, that whole plot vs. the stuff with the kids in S4, and I'd rank those first three 3, 1, 2 though it's a clearly a cohesive whole.
I forgot David Costabile was in S5, he's terrific, Wags on one of our new favorites Billions (and of course, his amazing run as Gale on Breaking Bad).
Sorry, wrong topic for this thread

I like Edris Elba. Though it appears I was thinking of The Shield. I genuinely can't see Elba as bond because it'd be such a short stint, maybe 3 movies max. My pick from the late 2000s when the question was first floated on another forum was David Harewood, but he's got some age on Elba. He hadn't then, obviously. Henry Cavill is a name that's been stuck in my head for years as a possible Bond pick. He's relatively young at 36 allowing producers to get maybe 5 films out of him if they push it. They also need to market the film sexually for a certain crowd. By that regard, I'd imagine Elba, Harewood, Hardy, Cavill, etc. would be in the running. People like Boyega and Kaluua are certainly excellent actors, but they also still resemble teenagers. You'd want old school good looks for the role. The Peaky Blinders lead and Cavill fit this role. There was talk about Luke Evans also being chosen, but he's much older and some idiots would freak out about his personal life. Just as they did with Ben Whishaw replacing his predecessor as Q. Evans is only 40 or 41. A film every 3 years would do nicely, even if he hits 50 at the end.
Then again, perhaps I'm focusing on age too much. Someone like Tom Cruise is 57 and does most of his stunts himself. The man is also insane by some standards. Though you have to hand it to someone who'd prefer to do it himself so as not to make a stuntman risk their life.
