So deserving of it's constant praise as "The best show on TV" (I mean, I would argue for The Sopranos, or Deadwood as better, but you get the gist ...). I know S5 isn't anyone's favorite, but I also prefer the S1-S3, Stringer, that whole plot vs. the stuff with the kids in S4, and I'd rank those first three 3, 1, 2 though it's a clearly a cohesive whole.

I forgot David Costabile was in S5, he's terrific, Wags on one of our new favorites Billions (and of course, his amazing run as Gale on Breaking Bad).

Sorry, wrong topic for this thread :D

It's the show with this handsome devil ...

I like Edris Elba. Though it appears I was thinking of The Shield. I genuinely can't see Elba as bond because it'd be such a short stint, maybe 3 movies max. My pick from the late 2000s when the question was first floated on another forum was David Harewood, but he's got some age on Elba. He hadn't then, obviously. Henry Cavill is a name that's been stuck in my head for years as a possible Bond pick. He's relatively young at 36 allowing producers to get maybe 5 films out of him if they push it. They also need to market the film sexually for a certain crowd. By that regard, I'd imagine Elba, Harewood, Hardy, Cavill, etc. would be in the running. People like Boyega and Kaluua are certainly excellent actors, but they also still resemble teenagers. You'd want old school good looks for the role. The Peaky Blinders lead and Cavill fit this role. There was talk about Luke Evans also being chosen, but he's much older and some idiots would freak out about his personal life. Just as they did with Ben Whishaw replacing his predecessor as Q. Evans is only 40 or 41. A film every 3 years would do nicely, even if he hits 50 at the end.

Then again, perhaps I'm focusing on age too much. Someone like Tom Cruise is 57 and does most of his stunts himself. The man is also insane by some standards. Though you have to hand it to someone who'd prefer to do it himself so as not to make a stuntman risk their life.

Maybe it is just me, but I could never (not even in Top Gear) see Tom Cruise as a credible romantic (or sexually appealing) lead.

Action hero? Perhaps.

But classical romantic lead, never.

Love Golden Brown by The Stranglers.

Terrific song.
Agreed.

I have liked quite a few Eels songs, prize fighter and such. This one skips the voice behind the band which works out very nice in this case.
To be honest this is probably the only one of theirs I’m familiar with. I should listen to some more.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - My Head is My Only House Unless it Rains
(Clear Spot album 1972)

This song is much different from the Trout Mask Replica sound.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Low Yo Yo Stuff (Clear Spot album 1972)

What the heck.....I recommend the whole album - Clear Spot

Is the review ready? :)

The CD "Twenty Years" is a two CD set; the first CD mainly (though not exclusively) comprises a good many of their better known songs and tracks from their rich collection of albums. Most of the web known (and well loved) tracks put in an appearance.

As I love this stuff, I have no problem having songs I like reappear on different albums.

However, the songs on the second CD (called "Rarities") are a lot less well known, - some are part of a number of soundtracks; others are from compilations with other artists; still others are previously unreleased tracks.

Most of them, I had never heard before.

If you like the music of Air, (and I do), you will really like this.

So crazy I already have some music from this band too, I thought I was the only one listening hahaha. I should have known, what a fun band.

You will find some musical soulmates (and some excellent music and recommendations) on this thread; at least, I have.

Anyway, Air have already made the migration to my computer's iTunes, and thence to my Astell&Kern mp3 player.

Fun stuff. I went on a roll with older King Crimson (I love the Adrian Belew / Levin / Fripp era, but it's more experimental, and less "classic" prog rock), mostly Court and Starless, lossless rips from my remastered CDs.
