You had never heard Hush by Deep Purple before??? Glad you have nowDeep Purple - Hush(1968)
The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood(2019) soundtrack has introduced me to some amazing music I had never heard before.
@Scepticalscribe I think you mentioned that you like music from the 60s. You got to have a listen to the soundtrack(not just the individual tunes); it plays like a radio-broadcast from that era with djs and ads.

To start, the massive hit "Smoke On The Water" the true tale of a fire on Lake Geneva when they were recording. One of the best live albums of all time "Made In Japan". Highway Star etc.Heck, I didn't even know they were British until this week when I looked up 'Hush'. I'd heard *of* Deep Purple, but doubt I've heard any of their music. (Any tunes in particular you recommend getting started with? I've got some catching up to do).
Cheers

Listening to 'The Best of John Coltrane', an excellent Jazz saxophonist, while enjoying a good 12-year-old Scottish Macallan whiskey.

Ha. I remember that one from the 70's. Great novelty tune. The Royal Guardsmen - Snoopy vs The Red Barron
“Whimsical folk”?
(Another great tune I heard in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood)
Pianist Yuja Wang, playing the Prokofiev Toccata in concert... as an encore.... in case one wonders why the orchestra just sits there, awestruck. Yep, they might be astounded that she can still play like that after just having joined them in playing the Prokofiev Concerto #3, at the Lucerne Festival, 2018.
(As with a few other Prokofiev works for piano, if one starts that toccata then better be able to finish it because there's no real resting place except just before the final bars)
Ms. Wang is 32. She began her musical education at age 6 in Beijing and eventually studied five years w/ Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. Having performed all over the world, she currently lives in New York. Her parents (mother a dancer and father a percussionist) both still live in Beijing.
