Several tracks from Dire Straits.

Timeless, ageless, classic.....

Sultans of Swing, Love Over Gold, Romeo And Juliet, Tunnel Of Love, Private Investigations, Money For Nothing, and Brothers in Arms, among others.
The last two being two of my favourites. Along with a live version of telegraph road.

Imagine Dragons earlier. Specifically the Smoke and Mirrors album.

Yes, I forgot Telegraph Road - a terrific track.

(And feel free to play it...)

Currently listening to J. S. Bach; Concertos for 3 & 4 Harpsichords, specifically, the first track, Concerto in A Minor for 4 Harpsichords - BWV 1065, first movement, to be followed, in sequence, by the others from the recording.

It is on my iTunes, and on my mp3 player (Astell & Kern SP1000), - which is what I am listening to - and originally was 'ripped' from a CD.

And now, am currently listening to Concerto In A Minor for Harpsichords - BWV 1065 - 2, Largo, followed by 3, Allegro.

And - in due course - by the rest of the piece.

However, over thirty years ago, I originally purchased this piece of music as a LP in Strasbourg.

A Voz y Para Bailar Cantando - (Fiesta Mestizia En El Peru) - Codex Trujillo ca 1780- Jordi Savall: Hespèrion XXI, - La Capella De La Reial XXI De Catalunya, Tembembe Ensamble Continuo - Bailar Cantando.

Is That All There Is - (one of my all-time, favourite ever, tracks - now, those lyrics appeal at a visceral, deep and cosmic level, - a level I guffaw at, the sort of howling guffaw, yelped surprised laughter, or bitter sweet yet agonised laughter, something exquisitely bitter sweet, that you never foreswear, not at a personal level) by the ineffably wonderful Peggy Lee.

Fantastic.

Yet, such truth (the bitter sweet integrity of art) of those lyrics - and the wonderful deceptively simple chords of that song, just brilliant.

Edith Piaf had a similar strength, in the integrity of her lyrics and songs; I love this stuff.

Peggy Lee was an icon - great song! 👍 - love it

Dusty Springfield also comes to mind (IMHO) - especially "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" or "The Look Of Love"

And now, (I was waylaid en route to Pink Martini) a few from John Barry: The Persuaders Theme, Midnight Cowboy, Space March (Capsule In Space from You Only Live Twice), The Girl With The Sun In Her Hair, Thunderbolt, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service....

Sounds like you are on a mission 👍 - all good destinations too 💕

If have to stop - or be waylaid - Pink Martini is a great place to relaunch from

Another distraction en route to Pink Martini (and I adore Pink Martini, and have had the rare pleasure and privilege of attending a number of concerts played by the group)....

Anyway, I am listening to wonderful track, The Look, by Metronomy - from the album The English Riviera.
