Almost everything I've been consistently listening to has been Ashley McBryde's last 3 albums. These are just so mind blowingly good and creative that even folks that aren't country fans can listen and enjoy. She is one of those artists that comes along very rarely.

These are the albums. Chronologically and in order. Do yourself a favour and listen!

Lots of tracks by Low. They released their __12th__ studio album in 2018, the brilliant Double Negative, that made dozens of Top NN lists for 2018 (and some top NNN lists of the past 10-20 years).

Superb, and I was going to attempt a description, but I'll just go with the genres listed on Wikipedia: indie rock, slowcore, dream pop.

Heck, just to give readers a sense of their sound, here's a couple of live tracks, follow by a 3rd studio track that viewers of Devs will recognize from Season 1, Episode 2 (Devs is also brilliant BTW)

Delving into comparative performances of Beethoven's Fourth today for awhile as it's one that I like but don't listen to very often. So far, some older recordings: Georg Solti / Chicago and and Josef Krips / London. then off to Apple Music to round up some more.

I have come to enjoy Spotify for classical music - seems like a bigger selection, especially in classical and I like it for comparing difference version versions (like you mention) - easy to make a quick play list for comparing them - it was actually one of your past posts that got me to switch from apple music to Spotify - so thanks 👍 - even though that was probably not the intent of your post, it did get me to try out Spotify for a month about a year ago 👍 - cancelled apple music before the month was up.

Ha, so I should make good on my admonitions to myself to stop being so lazy and learn how to navigate Spotify properly instead of just dropping in there now and then when I can't find something.

Probably the time to do that is shortly after the MBA I recently ordered shows up. I'll be having to learn my way around Catalina then, and iTunes will be gone from there... so why not throw in Spotify and make the whole shebang a learning curve, get it over with all at once. Apple Music won't thank you but I might!

I Wendy, I Wonda, I wonder ...

(sorry, recently rewatched AFCW), but __really__ I do wonder, how many people explore music posted here? I've found some amazing stuff, that's not well known (and certainly wasn't to me), since I give 99% of the stuff I'm not familiar with a listen - you know, vs. the stuff we all know, we click "like" as in "I know this and I like it".

Just curious :)

I sure do... when I make time for it. Not so much this time of year when the great outdoors starts talking to me, but then I go back and prowl through pages of it on a Saturday night (or a rainy day) sometimes for the heck of it. Even stuff that has no link, just a mention, I will look it up somewhere and check it out. So lots of times my "likes" are not recognition but "thanks, that's cool" indicators!

I’ve just moved over from Apple Music to Spotify as I get a cheap deal with my phone contract. One thing I cannot work out how to do is “play all songs”? This I often did with Apple Music as there’s “play all songs” button but not on Spotify? Any idea how to do this? I’m still trying to find my way around Spotify so any tips will be appreciated.

Nice, yeah, I'm going to make sure I do a sort of recurring "results of my exploration" post, I've wound up going down a rabbit hole from a post in this thread, and through all the "You might also like ..." sort of recommendations in Apple Music, found all sorts of interesting stuff.

I may wind up on Spotify as well, my AM was from a 4 month free promo, and I love it, but unless the UI fills me with rage, I'm sure the current versions of Spotify will be terrific too (I haven't looked / sub'ed to it in years). The little G can get a $4.99/month sub through her .EDU email, and she says it has a better selection of K-pop :D

I check out quite a few posted here - especially if there is a link to click - might just be a cool live version of an old favorite (like linda perry / 4 non blondes- above) or totally new piece (to me) - for example - the Handel: Concerti grossi, Op.3 posted by Lizkat a while ago

I had never heard of this Handle album so a quick search on Spotify and gave it a quick listen - loved it - now it's added to my favorites in Spotify 💕

I started a MR suggestions playlist to do a quick search and add the track to listen to later - lol

FWIW - I don't often listen to music on my cell - unless on a walk / hike / short run for exercise

I mostly use Spotify on My Mac and have downloaded the app and have the paid version of Spotify

That Said, I still play most of my music (paid) on iTunes (Music on Catalina) and play my purchased music on iTunes (Catalina) and use Spotify $10 per month for music that I don't have on iTunes - a bargain in my mind to access everything else on Spotify (and keep separate from Apple Music) Spotify has an amazing selection and can be downloaded for better quality and local playing.

I mostly use playlists and Albums to play music - and just use the play button

Anyway sorry not much help on the cell phone app - but am sure someone will chime in and add some better input on that aspect

Lately I've been on a quest of sorts to find (at least to me) new guitar players to listen to, and I came across the music of Andy Timmons by reading about him somewhere online. Sure, I'll never get tired of Jimi, Jimmy, Stevie or Dave, but some novelty every now and again is never a bad thing, right? Anyway, here's Wonderw... no wait, Electric Gypsy. I'm this close (hands very, very far apart) to nailing that solo at the end there. Despair is slowly setting in.

'bout my speed for being up too late on a Saturday night!
