Coney Hatch - Fantasy (OFFICIAL VIDEO) - 1985

Saw them live a few times back in the 80's - Frankie & Johnny's Calgary comes to mind - Awesome Guitar solo by Steve Shelski and always great vocals by Carl Dixon,

As it happened, I didn't either.

It is a music thread.

That is why people choose to post here.

Please, then, therefore, do bear in mind that sarcasm and humour and "jokes" are 1) not expected, 2) mightn't be understood, let alone 3) appreciated, and, 4) that humour, anyway, is a personal and highly subjective thing, very much dependent on context, while, 5) people have a right not to find someone's attempts at humour funny.

Now: Music: @Apple fanboy has reminded me that it has been far too long since I last listened to REM.

So, a few songs from REM: Daysleeper; Lotus: Bittersweet Me; E-Bow The Letter; Everybody Hurts; Losing My Religion; Bang And Blame, and Man On The Moon.
Well, you're going to scold, I'm going to joke.

So, I've been listening to Guardians Of The Galaxy, Volume 2 for some old time greatness.

A special CD 👍

I bought it in a (cough) what I suspect was a sort of boot-leg store (there were even boot leg kiosks) on one of the occasions I was monitoring/supervising elections in Bosnia in 1997.

Even at the time I could see that it was - ironical, perverse, bizarre, paradoxical - that we were doing democratisation, rule of law, elections - while yet buying bootleg CDs; the locals pointed out that their economy had been destroyed by war and that any economic activity (from us) was more than welcome.

However I still remember exactly where I bought that CD, in a small, dingy room, up a back stairs to the sort of small, stuffed, CD store I knew from my student days, and how delighted I was to lay hands on this CD.

And the REM (CD albums) I was listening to earlier this evening - thanks to @Apple fanboy - were purchased in Kosovo, -in a proper music store, a few years after that, when I was supervising elections in that country.

And, I am now listening to - have now graduated to - Seal:

Prayer For The Dying; Kiss From A Rose; Crazy; Fly Like An Eagle; Future Love Paradise; Bring It On; Show Me; and Don't Cry.
My Seal CD was stolen with the rest of my CD collection when I lived in the North East. Maybe I need to replace it all these decades later!

I'm having an 80s flashback: Howard Jones, The GoGo's, Wang Chung, Dead or Alive, et al. I think I'll stay in the same decade but shift genres, from pop to hair bands/glam rock: Poison, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Winger, Night Ranger, et al., up next.

Don't be hating on The GoGos... as long as you're in the '80s mindset - break out the Missing Persons..... 😀

Yes I remember you hinting at this on earlier posts and for me the "Steve Miller - Fly Like and Eagle" sticks out - LOL - and is not a track that I have on any of my seal CD's - my curiosity is activated - o_O

Some of my favorite seal tracks - Crazy, Kiss form a Rose, If I could, PPL asking why . . . .

Excellent choice right there! 🙌

My 80s post was on a Thursday, but I was definitely in a Friday state of mind. So here's what came next....

Some might say predictable & cheesy, but always a turn-it-up-to-11 good-time jam to me. 🤘
