Yeah, fabulous woman! Here is one of her best:

I always think of "When Will I Be Loved" as a fun, upbeat song, in spite of its lyrics. I suppose that was the original intent. As far as I can recall (and also by looking at a list of her charting singles) I first became aware of Linda Ronstadt with her early 1975 hit "You're No Good." However, it was followed so closely by "When Will I Be Loved" that now, with my increasingly "fuzzy" memory, I tend to think of the latter as being my "first" by her.

Thanks for that great video.

I think I will share my favorite Linda Ronstadt song of all time tomorrow. I've been looking for an excuse, even though most people probably won't agree or care. 😉 LOL.

Yes, it is! And of course it was prominently played in the last scene of the last episode of probably the best TV Series ever, Breaking Bad:

I wish I could get into TV series in which the main characters are bad guys, because I would have had a lot of series to choose from in the past 20 years, but I've just never been able to do so. 😉

I accidentally saw about five minute's worth of one "Breaking Bad" episode one time. I don't know what kept me from immediately changing the channel, as I had always done before. Maybe it was because the character said what he said before I had a chance to change it. I don't remember what he said, but it was hilariously funny. I was almost tempted to keep watching just because of that, but I knew from long experience not to "fall for it" anymore, so I changed the channel before some seemingly likeable guy murdered someone and made me regret liking him. :);)

Yeah, Queen is fabulous! Here's another one by them:

And of course that song was used in a critical episode of the excellent series The Americans (click where it says "Watch on YouTube):

Perfect song for that scene, as both Philip and Elizabeth were (always) under a lot of pressure~
I think I gave up on the Americans after an episode or maybe two. But Queen is my all time favourite band. No question.

Soundtrack from the "Twin Peaks" TV Series (1990-91)

This is one of the best original-music TV soundtracks of all time (IMO, of course). Unless I'm forgetting some other TV series, this is the only warped, twisted, demented TV series that I ever watched — and loved. I never missed an episode, until maybe the last few of the final season, at which point the series had "jumped the shark." Until this moment, I haven't heard these songs since the series was on the air — with the exception of the main theme. I didn't intend to listen to the whole thing right now (I only just saw it by accident in the right-hand column, as I was searching for other things), but I couldn't stop once I started. It brought back too many memories. In fact, I'm presently at 37:28 of 48:02.

This is the complete album, so you may want to listen only to the first two or three songs. They are the most memorable ones of the bunch anyway. UPDATE: The last 8 minutes are also great.

So I hear. But didn’t do anything for me.
Understand. I have a similar issue with the immensely popular AMC Series "The Walking Dead". Have tried to watch it, but it did nothing for me.

On the other hand, AMC has had some very enjoyable series:

The Killing
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Mad Men

And on FX:

The Bridge
Justified
The Americans
The People v. O. J. Simpson
Tyrant
The Shield
Fargo

As I promised last night:

What's New - Linda Ronstadt & The Nelson Riddle Orchestra (1983)

This is one of the most flawless vocal performances of all time. It still gives me goosebumps. It entered the charts on 10-29-1983, and stayed until 01-28-1984. I only ever heard it played on 630 KHOW Radio, Denver, during that time (I was living in far western Nebraska then). I always stopped doing whatever I was doing whenever it came on, because how could I concentrate while I was mesmerized?
