I need to ask this for those old enough: what would you consider the best songs in the Trance genre during its heyday (circa 1995 to 2002)?
What about for those who were too old? I was probably listening to Oasis, Blur or similar back then.

I kind of like Gimme Shelter as well.
In general, I tend to prefer (far prefer) The Beatles to the Stones, while I also admit that musical preference is deeply personal and highly subjective.

Amazing how in 1971 at Pompeii the band was already in high gear and firing on all cylinders with all members fully contributing. They would achieve music immortality a short time after (perhaps having already achieved it already with echoes -- in my opinion) and then, just around the corner, at the height of the band's fame, an irreparable breakdown would forever destroy them as a four person unit just six or seven years later. The lesson: enjoy today because you never know what tomorrow brings.
