I did not know that any of the boys had solo projects.

I want to say this was his only solo album. The album is good, this just happens to be my favorite track on it and also happens to be the title. The album as a whole is very "Ramones" sounding, kinda hard not to sound like one with his voice, but the lyrics and overall sound.

"Art Lover" by the Kinks is not the kind of song that could be written today. The lyrics on the surface are downright creepy -- seems to be about a man who is stalking little girls in the park. Ray Davies, the Kinks frontman and writer of the song, said that the song is really about a divorce dad who gets custody of his daughter only once week. Davies in an interview later said that when the man in the song says that "I'm not a flasher in a rain coat. I'm not a dirty old man," the listener "can choose to believe him." It's quite a sad song with a beautiful melody so I choose to believe the guy in the song.

I really love this entire LP too.

I saw them on the Come Dancing tour at the new Opry House here in Nashville. Great show. They opened with Around the Dial ... good stuff.

Totally agree. There are so many good ones on Give The People What They Want. It's just a pristine album and even Lola makes an appearance in Destroyer, which is an all time classic in my opinion.
