live music shows....?

I went there from the fall of 1982 to the spring of 1984 or so...
I was one of the first male folks to actually have an earring... true story.
got called to the deans office about it. such a big stink over nothing. of course I don't wear it anymore. almost always had to be told to cut my hair. i hear now they even let guys grow beards. they didn't back in the day.

and man did i hate chapel. my roommate and i got in a lot of trouble cutting up during chapel.

Haha, funny story. That's why im not going back. I stopped going to chapel and they stripped all of my scholarships. Chapel sucks.

And now the people there are amazing. That is the one thing I love about the school. I still go up there quite a bit, still a lot of friends there. There are all kinds of people with tattoos now. And the "social clubs" straight up throw down. I've been to one of their parties

lol. sweet. and beards? how archaic was it to not allow beards! the "social clubs" threw down from time to time back in the day... but it was always on the down low.

There are people with beards. Hell there are even people with 1 inch gauges in their ears. The partying is still on the DL. if you get caught with any drugs or alcohol your stay at lipscomb will be ended. I don't think they care what you look like anymore. I think it has become a business and as long as they have their money they're fine.

Chilling on the balcony and listening to an old favorite:

Very underrated band. Only did one album if I am correct. Had a very nice, different sound. Good stuff!

Good memory, my man! Actually Cynic has reunited after nearly 20 years and released another album!

A little side story: I was able to catch Cynic and Sinister supporting Cannibal Corpse back in '94. It was a sweet show but the highlight was chatting with the bands afterwards out by the tour buses. Chris Barnes came out, smoked a joint with us, chatted for a while and then hoped in a cab on his way to BlockBuster Video.

Why was he in a hurry to get to BlockBuster? Because Ace Ventura: Pet Detective had just been released on DVD that day. He was so excited that he was in a movie! LOL! Those were good times!

Chris Barnes and Cannibal Corpse performing "Hammer Smashed Face" in their cameo in Ace Ventura:

The Fray. One of my top 3 favorite bands of all time

Just to name a few more bands I am listening to at the moment:
Tigers Jaw
Gungor
Train
Snow Patrol
