Best song ever. Here are the lyrics:

My name is Dr. Worm.
Good morning. How are you? I'm Dr. Worm.
I'm interested in things.
I'm not a real doctor,
But I am a real worm;
I am an actual worm.
I live like a worm.

I like to play the drums.
I think I'm getting good,
But I can handle criticism.
I'll show you what I know,
And you can tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums.
I'll leave the front un-locked 'cause I can't
Hear the doorbell

When I get into it I can't tell if you are
Watching me twirling the stick.
When I give the signal, my friend
Rabbi Vole will pay the solo

Some day somebody else besides me will
Call me by my stage name, they will
Call me Dr Worm.
Good Morning how are you, I'm Dr Worm
I'm interested in things.
I'm not a real doctor,
But I am a real worm;
I am an actual worm.
I live like a worm.

I like to play the drums.
I think I'm getting good,
But I can handle criticism.
I'll show you what I know,
And you can tell me if you think I'm getting better on the drums.
I'm not a real doctor,
But they call me Dr. Worm.

Yay! :p

Did not make the name connection at first, because they are all Untitled in my iTunes, but that is one of my faves off the Sausages album. Saw them in concert on the Takk... tour. Very good.

Can't argue with LZ or PF (who can?) but I was never much of an Outkast fan. To each their own...
Jealous.

I don't know if you're much into rap, but based on the genre, Outkast is way good. On a technical level, Andre and Big Boi are pretty remarkable, and while they fluctuate between serious and playful lyricism, it does them justice. They're right up there with Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Kanye West, Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, 2Pac, etc.

Since you like Sigur Ros, I assume you already like Bjork? Here are a couple other groups I think you might like...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkt4sOp_fmM (all I could find)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGaLBuLoMfw (eww, it's cheerful)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj8jU8Ucgd8 (their album is free on their blog, way beyond worth downloading)

Anyway, that's a handful of not very popular bands that are worth checking out. If you've got anything to that tune, link me up.

To me, your links were pretty varied, so I'll respond in kind with some varied stuff. But I do like the post-rock thing and in fact kinda got past my Sigur Ros phase and moved into less-eccentric but just-as-emotional stuff like:

If you like Animal Collective, you might also like Panda Bear, Caribou, Baths, ceo, Emeralds, The Field, and Seefeel, just to throw a few out there.

I'll look over these carefully tomorrow. This is what music discovery is all about. :D

Out of curiosity, do you like James Blake or Gotye?

Love James Blake. I like goofing off and trying to sing along with all his processed voices.

I air-keyboard to this one:

Had not heard of Gotye; just listened to a bit on iTunes and am not sure it's for me. Kindof like low-key Muse IMHO.

How do you submit Youtube videos like that?

How do you submit Youtube videos like that?

Step 1: Go to YouTube and find a video you want to embed.
Step 2: Find the URL of the video and copy only the stuff after "v=", which usually looks like text/number combo. For example, "tkyOG1V6Ul4".
Step 3: In the post window, type in [ youtube ]<paste the 'tkyOG1V6Ul4' here>[ /youtube ] << no spaces between "[ ]" and youtube

Just came across this video of a guy playing some sort of guitar instrument. The guy's technical ability is incredible, and his music sounds awesome. Check it out, see what you think, the link I posted is of him playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps by the Beetles.

It's a chapman stick. It's what you progress on to if you think playing the guitar is too easy! It's basically a guitar and a bass strung back to back, played by tapping.

If you like chapman stick stuff, do a search for Tony Levin... he plays it quite a lot.

Here's Levin in King Crimson's 'Elephant Talk'. Amazing musicianship by Fripp, Belew and Bruford too. Video quality could be better!

Yes, I'm more into rock really... or at least proggy bands which veer towards rock (Rush, Marillion, Riverside etc.). I have a low tolerance for Yes and ELP's worst excesses (Dream Theater bores me silly too).

I always like to keep an eye on Fripp though - he gets up to some interesting stuff.

I saw 'The Adrian Belew Power Trio' live a couple of years back - covering a lot of Crimson stuff. That man certainly rocks... if you ever get a chance he's worth seeing.
