A stunning young pianist (and musician) named Luke Slott; a sort of cross between Philip Glass and Yann Tiersen - saw him busking a week ago and bought one of his CDs entitled "The Home of Laughter". The track "Strange Miracles" is simply sublime.

Cheers

David Bazan - Strange Negotiations

he actually played in an apple store a week or two ago...

Now playing: James D Stark "Halo", from Fortress Of Solitude. ("Halo" is a Depeche Mode cover.)
Before that: The Echoing Green "December (Neuropa Mix)", from Music From The Ocean Picture.

Given that the space shuttle Atlantis has lifted off today on the final space shuttle flight, I'm listening to some of the soundtrack written by Vangelis (Heaven & Hell, Alpha) from the wonderfully uplifting TV series "Cosmos" by the late, great Carl Sagan.

Cheers

just walked home from a free outdoor show with one of my favorite bands ever.

Del Castillo and not only did they play an awesome show, i got to meet and shake hands with the band after the final encore. totally awesome.

note to self, next time take the camera... :(

since i own everything they ever released, i'll be listening to Del Castillo in shuffle now for a few days.

hoo-ray for Indie music from talented people.

Hey, Bungalow Bill!!!

well, since you mentioned it...

my wife and Rob were good friends in college (CA) and we've stayed in touch through several moves on the part of both parties. really talented guy, music, film, still doing on/off broadway reviews as of late. the bass player on his last album is Viktor Krauss, Allisons Krauss' brother, good stuff. yay central IL and a cool music scene! :)

Opps I Did Bungalow Bill is a totally funny mashup from his last album.

my favorite from the album is Inspections which was filmed live. dig the 'air-guitar' bit and the reactions of the local population. new york is a strange, strange place...

Now playing: Towa Tei feat. Maki Nomiya of Pizzicato Five "La Douce Vie (Amai Seikatsu)", from Towa's Future Listening! album.
Before that: The Human League "(Keep Feeling) Fascination", from The Very Best Of... (the ARK21 Records release).
