Where we live, not many kids come trick or treating. And last year, we had none. Of course this year there will also be none.

My wife and I will most likely go to a casino and do some "light" gambling. However, folks there might still be in a Halloween mood, all dressed up. It could be crowded. (Don't worry, the casino enforces many rules to keep things safe, including the wearing of masks).

NICE! That sounds like a great Halloween! Partying in a casino hotel sounds like a great plan to me 👌

That's awesome. I'm just glad to see people across our country making exciting plans and enjoying life
Thanks. As it is, my wife and I don't like sitting at home every day. And especially when the weather is nice, I want to be outside. Fortunately, both of us are in good health, and knock on wood, Covid free! (We've both been tested for doctor-ordered reasons).

Sounds relaxing. Are y’all planning to wear costumes when y’all go to the casino?

Some years I went light and others heavy. I had planned on heavy but my gf wants me to be hugh Hefner so not much to do. Other years I’ve done light it’s just been grease kinda outfits. The years I’ve gone all in it’s been crazy. Hair dyed at the salon, makeup, full costume, good memories haha

We are not planning on wearing any costumes. But we do plan on having fun, as long as the casino paysQ

I trust that you both will be wearing masks?

After all, attired in appropriate masks is something common to the costumes worn at Hallowe'en and during the pre-Lenten Carnival celebrations.

Kids not wearing masks => I give no candies.

Thank you! I play Spanish 21, so very, very rare to win a massive hand. But my wife plays slots, so she has a better chance. However, neither of us bets heavy, as we know the "house" wins most of the time. So we control our wins and losses real well.

Oh wow that is so refreshing to hear. I have a friend who only takes the money he's "willing" to lose with him to the casino. So let's say he's got 200 bucks after paying all his bills and is looking to have a good time. The way he does it is that he tells himself that he's "spending" 200 on a good time. Then if he wins he's happy but if he loses all 200, it was what was expected and he's not disappointed. Hopefully he's able to keep it that way though, and it doesn't get out of control. I have some other friends who honestly are not even worth talking about other than saying they couldn't stop, and have lost way more than anyone should. Sad

I know y'all aren't wearing costumes, but one thing people like to do previous years I've gone out is take pics with people whose costumes they liked.

One year one person dressed up as a political candidate who was running at the time, in a not so appealing way, and I took a picture with them, amongst others whose costumes I liked.

This year, idk about that though

Just throw this on and put it on repeat. Can't get harder than this 🎃

Apple Music has a playlist. It's not that great though. I found a bunch of great stuff on youtube though.

I don't think this even needs to be said, but obviously Thriller is the classic song of the night, but unfortunately you can't have that on repeat...unfortunately *sigh*

Yeah, I constantly see a lot of folks bet way too much. I often wonder where they get all that money. Myself, yes, for the most part, I make a valiant effort to restrain myself, with only betting a certain amount, and up to a certain limit (my wife does the same). Once in a while, I go overboard, but typically make most of it up in subsequent visits.

Halloween's coming ? Oh crud... i forgot again..

I suppose i'll just be here as i always am.. I mean not right here, but ya know.

The kids dress up and we carve a pumpkin, never do the trick or treating thing and couldn’t this year anyway. Plans haven’t really changed as to me it’s just a money making date stolen from the Celts and marketed by the Americans. A load of rubbish really.

It used to mean something to me as a kid, a magical night of freedom to roam the neighborhood and... collect candy, but first it was the freedom. :)

The history of Halloween is fascinating. A Pagan Celtic Festival, Samhain combined with Roman Feralia and Pomona celebrations. Massaged by the Catholic Church All Saints Day to sell to The Pagans.

And these traditions came from Europe, and was first most popular in the Southern States, but this article credits millions of Irish immigrants for really helping it take off in popularity, where it subsequently transitioned into a secular holiday at least according to this article:

Now regarding marketing, what really irritates me is mid Oct and the local building supply store is full of artificial Christmas trees and decorations.
