well i hope for a 64Gb version. Then hopefully the 32Gb will drop in price! I have a upgrade burning a hole in my wallet!

3.8"/4" screen... the home button doesn't need all that space- make it optical

C'mon, Apple!

Usual upgrades:
- Faster CPU
- More memory
- Better cameras

Probable:
- Dual GSM/CDMA chip

Decent Chance:
- RFID

I think the rest will be in software.

Some hopes:
- Giving the user the ability to create shortcuts as gestures or whatever
- Please for the love of god... fix notifications
- Global actions or system wide applications
- Centralized File Storage

2010 - iPhone 4

You were saying?

Methinks you're mis-interpreting what he's saying. I think he's saying that there isn't a significant design change each and every year. If you go with that train of thought, he is correct. Between the iphone 3G and 3GS, there was little to no change in the overall design.

Not that this is important to me and I have not read all threads here but I have read most, I am surprised no one is looking for MyWi device.

I mean I hear a lot of people getting the Droid X just for this feature?

iPhone 5 won't be until like June/July, do we really need a thread this early?

Yes, because hopefully someone at Apple is listening to demand. Doubtful, but hopefully

Besides, doesn't hurt to dream of the next model?

My realistic expectations:

- more RAM
- more capacity
- more megapixels
- faster CPU
- higher resolution display
- larger display
- thinner
- lighter
- longer battery life
- cheaper
- metal/carbonfiber back
- touch-capacitive back
- biometric security
- credit card terminal
- iOS 5
- 4G

True, I use mine frequently. I also use it for making calls since it's phone is clear, and quite reliable.

Ever since my first iPhone there have only been two things that I've really wanted to see on the iPhone.

- A Camera Flash
- A Notification LED on the front of the phone

That said - I guess all I'm really hoping for is that notification LED.

Higher screen: not happening. Go buy something else.
Higher resolution: higher than what. IPhone 4 has the highest. Get a life.

U will get better camera, faster processor and more ram.

My realistic expectations:

- higher resolution display

You know that the Retina display has the highest resolution the average eye can notice? Even if you'd make the resolution bigger you wouldn't be able to see a difference.

I don't think there'll be a change in the resolution - They're too proud of their Retina display, why would Apple release a new "better" display just one year after the last one?

I won't be getting the 2011 iPhone. Got the iPhone 4 and I'll be waiting for the 2012 model.

But for the 2011 hardware:

  • *64GB
  • Black/White - even though I've always been more of a fan of black
  • Better camera front/back
  • RAM will stay the same, 512MB
  • CPU will stay the same
  • Better battery live

2011 Software:

  • Notifications - each time someone says that the notification system is good I get the feeling that they don't know what a good notification system is
  • Redesign in the UI. I agree it does work, but it's "ok". I think it's starting to look boring, and doesn't have the "Wow" effect it used to
  • Fix all the bugs, damn it. since iOs 4 I've been getting so many bugs that it's crazy. iOs 2 had no bugs, then there came a few in iOs 3 which were fixed in iOs 4, but there came a bunch of new, VERY annoying ones.

I guess it's all I can think of right now.

2011 Hardware:

10.1" Screen
Optional data networks

Add those things and I'll be happy!

Maybe they'll just not under clock the processor and let it run at the full 1ghz. With a better battery so the life isnt affected.

To be honest I'd just like a redesign of iOS, I'm finding it a bit stale.

Exactly. It's incredibly expensive and time consuming to tool up for a new design and we just got the iPhone 4. Next year it ain't getting bigger, or skinnier. Whatever we get will be in the exact same shell.

My realistic expectations:
- higher resolution display
- larger display

I'll assume you mean the higher resolution would be in conjunction with the larger display. People are taking your "higher resolution display" comment out of context. If Apple bumps up the screen size at some point in the future, they'll probably bump up the resolution to match.

Wow, someone's gonna be disappointed.
