Which browser with OSX?

Thanks for all the replies, yes I should have made it a multiple choice as I am leaning towards a combo of Chrome and Safari on my laptop.

Chrome sucks juice compared with Safari on my MBP. I'll probably stick with Chrome on my iMac though.

Also here's an assumption: Since Safari is geared towards Mac OS and the folks who wrote it fine tuned it for Mac, wouldn't it be the leanest/meanest of the group?

Any web developers out there? Firefox has a great developer tool set, IMO.

Which browser do you think has the best developer tool chest? Also which do you think is best suited to test IE 7.0 compatibility? We have people on my site site unfortunately stuck with IE 7.0 for the foreseeable future.

Not decided

I voted for Chrome but the reality is that I use Safari all the time even with some bugs bothering me! I don't care I think the integration with Mac OS is fantastic and its almost rare to get the same with the others! I just love safari because of its simple interface. I know Chrome is simplistic but Safari works excellent for me! I have installed Chrome, Firefox and even with them on the computer I keep using safari. The rest is a backup plan. Plus now with the Keychain integration is so fantastic having my devices well synchronized up to the moment.

Safari is good for me other than list menu needs some small fix. and I am not planning to add too many browsers on my rMBP wasted small spaces on 256GB SSD! :apple:

Safari generally, unless there's something that requires Flash. Then I use Chrome.

Firefox because of having favicons as the bookmark bar. If Safari had that capability I would use it instead.

Firefox for one site only - because it can prevent auto-refresh.

How do you prevent auto-refresh? I have tried noscript and quickJS. I have also tried this, with limited success.

Type.. about:config.. in your address bar and type "frequency" in the filter and double-click on browser.cache.check_doc_frequency. Use a value of 0 (check doc once when you first visit) or 1 (check everytime you revisit).

Go to Preferences/Advanced/General, and tick "warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page".

You will then get a message just under the favourites bar which will tell you of the block and give you the chance to allow reload.

Thanks, but that was the first thing I tried.

I made a conscious decision to use Safari only when I installed Mavericks. I very much enjoy it, and have become accustomed to it now. I used to be a Chrome user, and use XMarks to sync my bookmarks between browsers and my iDevices. I now stick to Safari and use iCloud syncing, and it is great.

I still have to use Chrome for one specific banking site that doesn't render well under Safari.

I use Safari.

I simply got sick of Firefox needing an update every other fortnight, I used Opera in the past, it wasn't a bad alternative as it was relatively stable. — I've used Chrome sparingly so I can't comment on it.

I find safari doesn't give me issues, even with flash sites, and no problems I've noticed otherwise, mind I am using Safari under Snow Leopard if that makes a difference.

I use an addon that automatically keeps the history clear for sites I tell it to. This keeps the browser history from becoming overbloated and totally useless.

I'd like to know what this addon is.

The only reason I use chrome is the small font sizes of safari on my imac. Any way to fix it permanantly?

Have you tried setting the minimum font size in Safari preferences?

On Mac i use Safari and i love it. I also don't have any flash, google crap or java installed on my Mac.
When i am on my pc, i will use combination of chrome and firefox (firebug for web development).

I like Safari, because it have only one search text input, it is simple and fast. Don't like forced page refresh when skipping back to pages.

I use Safari because it's the only web browser left that is dedicated to browsing the internet, and not becoming your hub where you do everything and anything.

Best reasoning I've heard. I use a web browser to...wait for it...browse the web!

I have native apps for photos, music, document creation, etc.. I don't want a washed down browser version of something.

Safari for the most part, for all the reasons people mentioned (e.g. iCloud syncing). I also use Chrome because of its integration to Chromecast (I have two devices).

I also use Firefox in Private Browsing mode for, uh, private browsing.
