So far I haven't found any good ones.. I'm wanting a keyboard case, but so far it looks like there's a wait from most manufacturers like Logitech and Zagg is sold out. I don't know if I want the Smart Keyboard because it's $149 and it doesn't even cover the whole iPad. Which cases are you guys getting?

I go back and forth between using the iPad with the ultra thin Logitech keyboard mainly for work task tracking and note taking. Then for personal it's a combination of typing and recreation Internet surfing, watching movies etc. so for me it's really important to be able to switch gears quickly. That's what I live about the Logitech keyboard - just put the iPad in the magnetic groove or lift it out when you want just the iPad. I have a skin on the back of the iPad for scratch protection. Most of the time I just throw it in my work bag like that. When I'm traveling I have a zip pouch.

I have the new smaller Pro ordered as well as the Apple keyboard. I'll see if I like that keyboard as much as the Logitech. The Logitech is awesome.

Let me know if you like the apple keyboard. The only thing I dislike about it is it's not a full case.

Probably Apple case and smart cover as they usually have the lightest weight and have decent scratch protection. (not much shock protection though) Have to try it in the shop first.

I hope to like the Apple keyboard but you are right - no protection for the back. I'm either going to scratch protect the back with a matte skin or what I'd really like is a good quality ultra thin clear case. I ordered the rose gold so I'd prefer to see it. I searched a bit but there is nothing out there yet in clear that also works with the keyboard. I'm hoping Power Support comes out with one.

OMG this is why I love MacRumors! That is perfect. I just ordered it as a backup when I'm in on the fly and don't use my keyboard.

Looking for replacement for Devicewear Ridge that the corners cracked off on my Mini 4 after a couple of months.

I might try the STM Atlas unless they include the pencil storage, which I won't be using.

I ordered the Apple Smart Keyboard for my 9.7" iPad Pro, but am interested in some additional protection. I read elsewhere that some cases (like Apple's Silicone Case) can be used simultaneously with the keyboard, so I'm looking into those options.

Are there any decent cheaper knock-offs of the silicone case available? $69 is way too much for a piece of silicone, IMO.

I agree. Most cases on Amazon aren't available till mid April. Getting the Smart Keyboard + silicone case comes out to $218. Don't think I want to spend that much on just a case/keyboard. I just want something temporary until I find a good keyboard case (like the Logitech one, hopefully they release it soon)

I'd considered waiting for the Logitech, but the version for the larger Pro seems too bulky and laptop-like for my needs. I'm excited about the slim Smart Keyboard. Just gotta find an inexpensive way to protect the back of the device!

I just bought the $6.95 MOKO smart case from Amazon to hold me over till a good keyboard case comes out for the Pro. This is my first time pre ordering something. Normally I'd wait for it to come out for a few months then buy it. The only thing I hate about pre ordering something is the lack of cases available for it.

On Friday I ordered

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CV4P3PO

Due to the color mostly, but I'm afraid it will just be a 1-star review on Amazon since the pictures show not 12-hole speakers but just the 8 or so of the Air 2, and also the speakers are wide-apart from the charging port just like the Air 2. So either a bad mock-up or just rebranded Air 2 cover.

I got this one as well

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D06IYLW

I don't like gold on anything as I find it cheesy but this one had mock-ups which show correct 12-hole speakers, close to the charging port. They have more colors but availability for those is way too far from now (April 12, 20, etc).

The only reason I didn't go for that one, which was #3 on my list (and I think there were only 5 or 6 in total on Amazon) was because it was only readily available on black and the mock-ups didn't show the lower part. Now that there are more colors stated for the 9.7" I took a peek and it's the same problem with the purple I linked first, seems to be either a bad mock-up or just a rebranded Air 2 since the speakers are way apart from the center, and the cutouts don't have the 12-holes.

So there you have it. Look for the 12-hole-speakers in the bottom. If it's 12 and close to the center, it's IPP 9.7, if it's 8 and close to the sides, it's Air 2.
I know because prior to ordering I had to look a lot of tech journalists "hands on" videos to see the differences.
There is also the smart conector and blah blah, but the 12-holes just gives it away easily IMHO.

I saw those cases as well. I had to order a black MOKO cause that was the only one available to ship before the iPad arrives. Wish they had more of a selection but oh well..

Yeah currently the availability sucks and I don't live in the US so this is a 1-time chance. I either get it right or I'm SoL since I won't order a single case from the US in say 2 months from now. Shipping costs would be ridiculous.

I'm just crossing fingers I hit jackpot at least with the cheesy gold one.

EDIT:

To correct myself (since I was looking at more stuff and then stumbled upon something that caught my attention), the Air 2 has 14-hole speakers, close to the center, the IPP 9.7 12-hole, wider apart.

Hopefully it's a bad render. If not, it will still serve its purpose until something better is released. For $6.95, it's definitely the way for me to go.

I edited my post but I'll post a video for reference, this is the one I saw, actually I tried to look for a "review" where I saw the speaker placement, but I was unable to find one.
To be honest this whole thing has had me with so many tabs opened in Safari that I no longer know myself, hence my confussion.

I repeat myself:

Air 2: 14-hole speakers, close to the center.
Pro 9.7: 12-hole speakers, wider apart.

(Check 02:06)

Hopefully it's a bad render. If not, it will still serve its purpose until something better is released. For $6.95, it's definitely the way for me to go.
Yeah, hopefully all of them work, specially since I have no way to get a decent case here and like I said, I won't be shipping a single case in 2 months when the smoke dissipates and we start seeing an influx or cases from the regular brands (and damn you monoprice for being late to the party).

I bought that one as well. Wondering why so many cases are being released so late for them..

It's the same reason as always. Most of these third party companies don't know until the last minute, usually the media briefing, what the final design and features are going to be. It takes them time to work on designs for new cases that are compatible.

2 glowing reviews already, but doesn't ship til April 10.

Those 2 reviews are for the 12.9" Pro.
I should be receiving my case tomorrow. A lot of people must have ordered it, which pushed the availability back 2 weeks.

Bummed out about the lack of 9.7" pro cases. I want to start using my pro but it's gonna be weird not having a keyboard since I use mine all the time on the Air.
